@iamonfire696 🍆 and 😺 also look gross, but you know darn well someone is out there right now eatting them because they find it delicious.
And good sausage gravy can be delicious as well. I think you just aren't liking the color and broken up pieces.
Other types of gravy can look not as good as well.

@Viper those are completely different things.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
Laughs. Not your sweet cookies and brown gravy. But our fluffy biscuits and sausage gravy... OMG yes!

AbbeyRhode · F
Not my thing, but it is popular. I like biscuits (real ones, not cookies) with honey. :)

AbbeyRhode · F
@Nimbus Heyyy! :)
Nimbus · M
@AbbeyRhode 😜
Oster1 · M
@AbbeyRhode Me too, Abby but I like the gravy too!😊🌺
TheOneyouwerewarnedabout · 46-50, MVIP
They’d prolly put cheese on it too
Stigmata · 36-40, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout That's a negative. On the thing shown in the pic we'd put icing lol.
Nimbus · M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout lololol,

SW-User
The South is a strange place.

SW-User
@SW-User I'm fully aware that you can use bread crumbs, potato chips, cornflakes, cornstarch, etc to coat chicken before frying

SW-User
@SW-User Also you don't need eggs. You can use a batter. There's loads of ways of frying chicken. Let me ask you this, why don't you call it onion ring fried steak?

SW-User
@SW-User well we call it country fried steak too. I didn't name it. Why is weinerschnitzel called weiner when it isn't weiners?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
American biscuits are like savory scones.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@CountScrofula they will ascend to heaven, actually. Try making that happen with a scone.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SwampFlower They're Brits they'll just fly up into the ceiling and crash down to try more biscuits.

SW-User
@CountScrofula Brits are famously solid.
TexChik · F
Cookies are not biscuits 🤦🏻♀️ And nobody puts brown gravy on biscuits . Gross!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TexChik He’s British…Nimbus would probably put brown gravy on biscuits.
TexChik · F
@cherokeepatti and they eat dicks with spots and pudding made from blood, and pies made from kidneys! Gross! 🤢
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TexChik I have a feeling that it was England where fruitcake and mincemeat pies and cakes originated….just up their alley to do such a thing. 🤢
FreeSpirit1 · F
Do English people eat

Nimbus · M
@FreeSpirit1 I've known a few ladies who do ;)
FreeSpirit1 · F
@Nimbus I hope they have had their shots.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F

these are what we call biscuits and its white gravy with sausage
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
@DeluxedEdition Yeah. We went to a lot of hockey tournaments stateside and almost every motel had them on the menu. Us Canadians would watch in awe as the American guests would fill their plates. I’m sure it’s tasty…just the look of it that gets me
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@LunarOrbit not getting past the look would prevent people from eating a lot of delicious food. 😅
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
@ViciDraco I agree. Ever try ling cod? (Burbot or Eelpout). Disgusting but surprisingly delicious
Oster1 · M
Well, that looks nice and delicious but here in the Southern US, G&B, are a right of passage and part of a breakfast that is second to none, especially with Country Ham, Red Eye Gravy, grits, hash browns and eggs, any way.
Southern Cooking is a Cuisine, unlike any other, to a true Southerner.😋

JupiterDreams · 31-35
I looove biscuits and gravy 💞
Nimbus · M
@JupiterDreams Don't the biscuits get soggy?
JupiterDreams · 31-35
@Nimbus Not if the biscuits are made right :)
Viper · M
Also spicy chicken gravy biscuits

HellsBelle · 36-40, F
trying to figure out if this is funny or a real question.... your "biscuit" in that pic is called a "cookie" here. and that color gravy is for turkey. the REAL american biscuits and gravy is a thick white sauce typically with bits of sausage, on....buns. what would you call them?

walabby · M
@HellsBelle Scones...
Nimbus · M
@HellsBelle Those are scones, spoiled.
HellsBelle · 36-40, F
@Nimbus a scone here is something harder. like the pic I posted, you can squeeze those. but scones are harder and are always filled with fruit or have icing here. like blueberry scone has blueberries. we had an orange cranberry one that had those fruits and also icing. but if you squeeze them they just break apart
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Wrong biscuits! 😂
Although....I can not say with 100% certitude that absolutely NOBODY has eaten that particular combination!

Freeranger · M
Trust me, it looks nothing like that. I don't eat it, but I've gone out to breakfast with those who do. I'd have no problem eating it I know.
Nimbus · M
@Freeranger I'm glad to hear that.
Freeranger · M
@Nimbus Zaphod42 nails it below btw. Now yer talkin'.
Straylight · 31-35, F
That’s nothing. Have you had fried candy bars?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Straylight Wait ! What ? 😲
Straylight · 31-35, F
@Picklebobble2 It’s not really a southern thing so much as a carnival thing.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Straylight In the north of England they do this thing where they coat a Mars bar in batter and deep fry it....😬

nedkelly · 61-69, M
FFS - Only with a large fries, and a diet coke
Nayla · 56-60, F
Not those kind of biscuits that are in your picture. It’s more of a tea biscuit.
I had the American biscuits and gravy once and it was delicious. Cant get it where I live though

More like a butter scone biscuit with gravy. I don't eat it, though. Digestives are best with dark chocolate. :)
RedBaron · M
Do Brits really eat fried fish and potatoes and call it fish and chips?
TheSirfurryanimalWales · 61-69, M
@RedBaron yeah...and I’m going to the chippy tomorrow😀
TheSirfurryanimalWales · 61-69, M
Yes..but why something that looks like a scone is called a biscuit I have no idea.
Nimbus · M
@TheSirfurryanimalWales I think we have to accept it's one of those mysteries ;)
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
One of my favorite breakfasts has it:

Nimbus · M
@JoyfulSilence Enjoy.
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
@Nimbus Oh, that was about a year ago.
But I just sat down outside a different place, and am awaiting my server to take my order.
....
She approached me and I ordered an omelete!

Julien · 36-40, M
Not that type of biscuit , more like bread really
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
Strange country, strange people! 🤷♀️
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
@Harriet03
Try it sometime.
And in the US biscuits are not cookies, and we use white (country) gravy or sausage gravy, which is a little darker.
It is awesome.
The biscuits look like this:

I had toast this morning with strawberry jam!

Biscuits not cookies lmao

SW-User
Their gravy looks like vomit 🤢
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Not those biscuits, and only some slop on the gravy, which has meat in it. I don't like the gravy, but love the biscuits.
MissTaken · 36-40, F
Yep but then they are a weird nation 😂😂
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
@MissTaken
I think it is weird to have beans with breakfast.
But I do not even like beans with supper!

SW-User
@Vetrov Mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm
HeavenBesideYou · 56-60, F
Lol. Yes, but no. Southern biscuits and sausage gravy. 😋
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
Do you guys really eat stuffed potatoes with tunafish and beans? hahahha

SW-User
@SkeetSkeet it’s so good…but you need a shit ton of cheese on it
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
@SW-User Maybe I'll attempt recreating it one day with cheese hahahah

SW-User
@SkeetSkeet I recommend - and lots of butter melted into the tatty 🤤
Stigmata · 36-40, M
Looks like cookies and gravy lol. What we eat looks nothing like that. Get the right hillbilly and he calls it "shit on the shingles".
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Stigmata Shit on a shingle is normally toast (that is the same shape as a shingle) not biscuits. Lol.
Stigmata · 36-40, M
@LadyBronte I've seen a lot of people around this area call them that lol.
Atlotto · M
Had some last night along with fried chicken and mashed potatoes.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
Those are not biscuits
tenente · 100+, M
au gratin 😉
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
That nonsense doesn’t merit a substantive response my friend.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
This is the yummy dish you’re trying to slander. That crap in your pic looks French. Figures.
