When did this place start dying?
I used to use this website several years ago, it was never big but and now it really seems to be on life support. What happened?

Well for one thing the AI that runs in the background is trying to "friendly" the place up. I have three base modes of interaction here.
Non-serious, basically kidding around, jokes, mild sarcasm that sort of thing.
Serious advice or conversations about real life issues.
And more aggressive back and forth generally relating to the usual political issues.
It's the last which I suspect the site is trying to eliminate and the one which often generates the most stimulating conversations. Replies are hidden and ai generated warnings are issued when none are needed as far as I'm concerned. Most of the people I engage with can handle their sh1t on their own, and the onez who can't just block me anyway.
I feel the site will thrive more betterly if they just let the adults have their fun!

@Easygoing1234 It's what ultimately shut down Experience Project before. The site wants everyone to be all huggy and loving. That's not how this usually ends up and clinging to unrealistic expectations won't keep this site alive.

@GerOttman On that we agree. I might have just gotten done insulting you for your political views, but I'm not looking for a friendly place where everybody gets along if it's forced like that.
For me, where it started to go to hell is when Andrew decided that rather than get rid of people who are guilty of actual hate speech, he would force people to block them instead. If you're allowing Nazis on your website, it's a Nazi website.

Haven't most sites such as this one experienced tough or weak times?
I've belonged to 2 others that were similar to this - Sodahead and Amirite - which are no more.

I think we're starting to see others true colors here. A lot of people are being exposed with fake profiles pretending to be female when in reality they are males. Not if, but when the administration finds out anyone with fake profiles will only get one warning to rectify things or forever get kicked off from here. If people would he honest from the get-go, things would be a lot better then they are now.
