Can you stop being anxious

How do you deal with anxiety and stop caring so much
4meAndyou · F
You may actually be able to increase your alpha brain waves if you put your mind to it.

"A 2014 studyTrusted Source found that neurofeedback training helped some people with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback where you respond in real time to the electrical activity in your brain and try to adjust it.

this study also suggests that it may be possible to train your brain to produce alpha waves that can help you feel more relaxed.

A 2015 study also suggested that meditation and mindfulness training could achieve these kinds of results."

Focus on some work requiring both physical and mental attention, this gives you opportunity to distract from that anxiety. Now you have to work for what is required for you.

I can't stop it when it's in full swing, I can only prevent it by avoiding situation that will most likely trigger it.

Nope. Anxiety has plagued me my entire life.

Philippians 4:6-7
New International Version
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Honestly, as simple as it may sound, just stop caring. The world doesn't revolve just around you, or me or anyone in particular. Just let go.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Mudkip No, it really isn't and it isn't about the world revolving around you...it is about the fight or flight mechanism gone wrong
twistedrope · 26-30, M
Relax I guess. When it gets too much... leave and come back to the situation when you've relaxed. Repeat until your relax skill has been trained to its utmost o:

Find someone you love, let them completely destroy you for years and years and years eventually when you least expect it, you will suddenly feel numb to everything that use to make you anxious
@NewBeginnings7790 the catch is only with that person. You'll be afraid to let anyone else in
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
@Justafantasy yeah, and you’ll be completely ruined

Yup 👍👍, I know exactly how you feel. I've become the same way. I have people in my life I care deeply for, and all I do is have the worst anxiety over them.

I mean like, I got to the point where it was affecting my intestines and having to go to the bathroom a lot.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
No, I can't,but I can talk my levels down and remind myself most of my anxious thoughts will never become reality.
The thoughts always come how I choose to deal with them is up to me.

French fries.

For some reason just a few carbs in me and I'm good. Discivered this while on a diet. Was having horrible anxiety so ordered a plate of fries and was all better.

Don't think it's about over caring
Think you have to convince yourself to handle the things you control and prepare for the things you can't
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
STOP identify with the thoughts in your mind 😊
Keep doing that but by bit you get there .
There's mostly illusions

Im worried about pending litigation upon which my world is centered i am the litigant so . . . I keep analyzing my side. Is that anxiety?
itsok · 31-35, F
Meditation and some breathing exercises help a bit, and distractions. But mostly medications

So you identify what your anxious about then attempt to think of something else or chat with someone

Prayer. Keeping myself distracted seems to help.

I think identifying the trigger is the first step.

For anxiety?
Try mindfulness.
It's what really helped me when my therapist started that with CBT.
