@RubySoo got it. I assumed you were basing it off something like BMI chart or similar.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@fishescycle when i get to my target weight, i will be of a healthy BMI too.
But.....those things are ridiculous....even when i weighted 8stone in my 20s my BMI was 'too high'.

That is wonderful and you look terrific! It’s so hard to stick to those changes, but you did it! I don’t know you, but I’m very proud of you.
My mom put a lot of weight on in her late 40’s through her 50’s. It really did a number on her health. She developed diabetes, started having issues with her organs, had very little energy, etc. She ended up passing away at 63 with liver failure, and I strongly believe it was all due to her obesity.
She never had the energy or the will to commit to the weight loss. She always hoped weight loss pills would do it for her, which I’m sure didn’t help her organs any. So yes, I’m very proud of you and how you turned your life around!

@cherryxblossom thanks so much. So sorry to here about yr mum.
Something that is seldom spoken about....hie many women get diagnosed with diabetes following the menopause. And thyriod issues....yet it shouldnt surprise ........its all down to hormones....

I really admire the willpower it had to have taken, to lose that much weight in a year. Although I think you look lovely in both pictures, that you both feel and look so great now is nothing but wonderful. 😊

And to the 2 or 3 who weren't kind ( i've deleted a couple of comments)...go f*ck yaselves.....i lost weight to improve my health. I'm pleased....and relieved I've been able to do this, and I feel I have a right to be proud of myself.
And ya know.....if I happen to look good in a bikini at 56 years old.....then thats an added bonus!

Looking good miss Ruby
My mother was diagnosed actually like a month ago and she's your age.
I'm hoping she will do the same and change things around for herself.

Congratulations! That took a great deal of self discipline over a long period of time, and you stuck to it!

@Mellowgirl No, she had no right talking to anyone the way she spoke to me making the assumptions she did. None at all. She was not professionalnin anyway. The doctor i spoke with days later apologised for how id been spoken to. No record of my consultation haf been recorded, my follow up phone call didnt happen and the receptionist at the surgery would not refer me for my blood tests 3 months later because no notes had be recorded to say i was due. They wouldn't even accept from id been on meds for 3 months!
I can take criticism, and welcome advise. If she'd said 'you're fat, you eat too much crap and you dont exercise enough' ...fair enough, but to tell me i drank too much when i barely touch the stuff, and assume i sat on my arse all day long was insulting. Not acceptable. Thankfully, the docs and nurses i spoke to in the weeks following that initial consultation were far more helpful and had a nicer manner.
I feel great. Better than ive done for years because i have improved my diet and cut out the crap i did eat.

@RubySoo 1. Were you sedated and eas the c-section involuntary or elective and is there (still) visible scarring from it?
2. Are there two vertical scars (if at all) parallel to each other or did they reopen the original incision?
3. In your current condition, would you consider a post pregnancy, board certified abdominoplasty (or tummy tuck) if it was 100% free?

@HootyTheNightOwl at my age its gonna happen anyway!! Lol. After 2 c-sections, my tum has never been tight so yes...i have loose skin there. Also my boobs have lost a bit off their volume....first time ever loising weight has shown on my bust! But, my arms and legs were never very big so no noticable loose skin there.
All the saggy bits are covered by decent undies!

@RubySoo It gets me how doctors hound us so much to lose weight... I've always been big so I've had it all my life - but if we do get down to the "BMI approved weight", then we can't get skin removal surgery on the NHS because it's considered to be cosmetic.
For real??? I'm hounded every time I come to see you, yet, if I did lose this weight and develop sagging skin afterwards, I have to live with that instead of being fat. That's part of the reason why I typically tell them that I'm not interested in losing weight.
My weight tends to fluctuate by a stone, too - so if I did get down to 8st, I would be underweight in the summer months and they would be on me to gain weight, then lose it again in the winter. So I wouldn't win either way.
