An allegory.
Jesus- the image is cesare borgia painted by Leonardo divinci , the concept came from Isis , later found in 1611 KJV Iesus being that there were no Js.
This character didn’t exist. The concept means hope and that we all have the anointing power from within us individually by tapping into the Christ Consciousness, or Savior Complex from our own Grief overcoming our own Obstacles.
YeShu hawa - or Joshua- a Hebrew name mixed of EA/Yah(Life/Mind/Father) - Eshu/Ish (Inner Man/ Soul/ son/daughter) i - Hawah (breath/Force/Mother) All different dieties that make the “God Head”
The Hebrews/ Israelites existed but no man can die for another man sins and cause them to be erased.

What are you saying here? 🧐
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Aliveshock when you said you immediately thought of angels regarding my name… I had visions of being an angel or some being like that around that time

He’s God born as a man; the way, the truth, and the life; who lived a sinless life and became the sacrifice to pay our sin debts; and beat the grave three days later. My thoughts are that I love the Lord, and that he’s my reason for life and any good that I ever do. I want to learn all I can about him and apply what I learn. The only comfort and joy I’ve ever had in my life was from him. There is no one like him. Whatever is left of my life, I’m giving to Jesus Christ.

He died a horrific death for you

@Matt85
Who knows how many suffered the same death back then... it was a common way to torture/execute.

You'd be better asking any one of the vast army of televangelists in America. One thing they won't want to you is that Jesus is their meal ticket to fame and fortune.
@sree251 This topic appeared in my newsfeed. So that means it's open to all. So to take your reply to its literal sense; if there is nowhere available you would normally piss in, where do you go when you need to go? It's easier for men to do that than for us girls.

A lot of things appear in the public space you traverse in the course of a day. You don't wipe your snot on someone's jacket in the lift just because it appeared in your line of sight within arm's length.

His resurrection is one of the impossible-to-prove myths upon which entire religions are founded and based.
Christianity has the immaculate conception and resurrection.
Judaism has creation of everything in six days, the parting of the Red Sea, and Moses at Mount Sinai.
Etc. etc.

He existed historically, but almost everything about his life is purely legend.

Erhman's argument is well taken. I am not rejecting the contention that someone said the things attributed to a person known as Jesus. Those utterances are astounding to me. They obviously stood out and were impactful enough to be passed down to us in scriptural writings. I do not deny that the originator called Jesus walked the earth some 2000 years ago. What I reject is the mythic figure of a Jew, born in Nazareth, whose life story was in accordance with the accounts in the Gospels. The life of Jesus is a fabrication. This is what I am saying. I reject the story of a Jew who turned water into wine, walked on water, healed the sick, raised the dead, died on the cross, and rose to Heaven.
I have no dog in this fight. I just get annoyed that the Jesus-never-existed hypothesis has become so fashionable among people who don't know the first thing about the methodology of doing ancient history.

You and Ducky agree with Erhman. I reject Erhman's treatment of Jesus as a historical event similar to that of Plato, Julius Caesar, et al. Jesus' teaching is not of this world. Erhman is dismissive of Jesus as another Joe Blow. His is the stance of Judaism that rejects Jesus as a Messiah and nothing more than an apostate trouble maker. Jesus' teaching turned Judaism on its head and rejected its eye-for-an-eye moral guidance that has spawned human conflicts including the present one in Gaza.
"Turning the other cheek" is the advocacy of Jesus' teaching. Chances are Jesus was a Palestinian Jew. If he were alive today, and if the Palestinians saw in him the Messiah, they would let the Israelis have all their land from the the river to the sea and walk away.
You, me, and @Ducky all agree then.

Being 50% human yet in his lifetime he committed NO sins at all? Kinda hard to believe...

Jesus likely was a person, but certainly not born of an immaculate conception, nor did he raise the dead, walk on water, and all the many things attributed to him.
He was a man who likely had a few followers and his stick... all else has been dreamed up and put forth as hope for a better hereafter.
The same goes for God, his "father".

I have never seen any compelling reason to believe that Jesus actually existed. If he did, he was likely just working a miracle-worker grift — Judea was lousy with them at the time. As a person, Jesus doesn't mean anything to me. I recognize his cultural relevance as the face of a particularly influential brand.

If you’re talking about the historic Jesus, he was known in his time as Yushua Ben Yosef. Yoshua son of Joseph.
Any other definition or naming like Son of Hod were created centuries after his death. It’s just been 2025 years.
Who was Imhotep?
Two thousand years after his death, Imhotep's status had risen to that of a god of medicine and healing. Eventually, Imhotep was equated with Thoth, the god of architecture, mathematics, and medicine, and patron of scribes: Imhotep's cult was merged with that of his own former tutelary god.
Imhotep continued to be worshipped into the Saite Period (c. 664-525 BCE), over two millennia after his death, culminating in becoming one of the few non-royals in Ancient Egypt to be fully deified.

He is a picture or statue of a male that the Catholic Religion calls Jesus so they can raise BILLIONS of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Before Jesus ascended to Heaven he promised a “helper” for mankind.
If you want to know WHO he is…
I recommend reading the first chapter of the Book of John.
It also amuses me when members of SW have allusions to God’s name but don’t understand a thing about the spirituality in Christianity.
If you want to know WHO he is…
I recommend reading the first chapter of the Book of John.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
I love when scientists explain God or Jesus as if they have a clue. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Jesus is the son of Man, the son of God and our savior from sin and death. He is the best results of humanity. He's bound to come again, given the time, over and over again. We potentiate Jesus by being human. We participate in all the great human souls.

Jesus - to me - is a story of a person who lived in this world and faced the same situations and challenges I have faced and am facing. The way he lived is admirable. His teaching is wise. I believe his is the only way to go.

Who WAS Jesus? ... an apocalyptic preacher that was executed for sedition by Rome, who's followers somehow imagined that he reincarnated into a physical body a few days later, then disappeared.

he had a humanizing influence on the jews, which is what he intended to teach, and those who carried on with this cause evangelized others who were ready to hear that message.
