What will unite humanity?

Will it take massive natural disasters and tragedies for us to finally put aside our differences in caste, religion, race, and geography and unite in a needto survive? Or will we be sufficiently inspired by love, empathy, and compassion to do so?

What will it take to unite us?or will we ever?
SW-User
There has just been a global pandemic and people became more divided than ever so I doubt it
Renkon · 36-40, M
@SW-User How so? I thought it brought some semblance of unity? Or did it not?
SW-User
@Renkon it seemed to initially until you got the anti mask/anti vax/it’s all a government hoax nuts
Education in its true essence … I don’t mean academic education… I mean education about life and human values …
@Renkon

I will try :

There is a variety of weapons that are required for starting a war, which is always for the financial benefit of few, including corrupt politicians) …

Some of these weapons are actually used physically during the war…

Some are used before a war starts .. These weapons are used by politicians …

They create hatred against other nations, other religions, land, other skin colors, …

Media is one weapon that can keep people ignorant and uneducated about human values .. they can fuel the hatred caused by the politicians and based on their war agenda …

Education can help people understand that human values are more important..

For example, land is not more important than children that are killed during the war … those children has been raised with love of their parents and to kill them is to destroy the world of many …

Another example : A black doctor can save a while skinned racist, if he’s not bitten up to death for his dark skin …

And so on and so on …

No greedy political system wants to educate its own people because war is one of the most beneficial trades, such as drugs, sex trafficking, oil, and …. Selling and/or smuggling guns, tanks, missiles, etc. benefits the politicians of all parties of any war …
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Soossie However, the current educational system places little emphasis on instilling such moral values in the next generation. A few references here and there, but not enough to really matter.

Do you believe that we should alter the current educational system or even design a new one that places a higher focus on respect for humanity?
@Renkon

Different places have different systems, yet none sufficient enough …

Media is playing a huge role in this and unfortunately not for it, therefore, I believe that this kind of education should take place at home and with family … that’s why it might take generation to learn and believe, if not too late …

Truth be told,

No one is interested in uniting humanity…
JustNik · 51-55, F
I just don’t think we’re made that way. Take away all the stuff we use to dehumanize others now and we’d find something else. Living through these times, it seems to me a chronic disease, always rumbling in the background until it flares and becomes contagious.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@JustNik Is there no light at the end of the tunnel?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Great question. One I think the Deep State will attempt to pull to install a totalitarian government of the entire world is a stage alien invasion using media and sophisticated technology.

The best one is to exhaust humanity with events that will bring them to their knees and put their faith in God and then get their priorities straight. If they can see clearly they’ll make the right choices when electing new leaders, when making important decisions on a personal and business level and they’ll choose to care for loved one above living to
Impress others with status symbols
Renkon · 36-40, M
@cherokeepatti What are the chances such an event occur?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Renkon I have no idea. It’s one of those wait-and-see but it’s been planned for the longest time to have a one-world totalitarian government and to eliminate cash completely. They are working overtime trying to convince us of the benefits without telling us that it’s a one-way street and most of us will be rounded up to reduce population but also to eliminate any opposition to this evil system.
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
This will do it
[image deleted]
So our lives are controlled by 300 people of the super elite. How do you like that?
twiigss · M
@HumanEarth I wouldn't put faith into everything that is posted on tiktok.
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
I don't, I won't but my faith in the government. Just research john D Rockefeller. He controlled oil, media, pharmaceutical, And more. Plus he suppressed a lot of information to. He was one the super elite that controlled the human population.

Just like they do today. Better do some reading in some books thats not on-line
twiigss · M
@HumanEarth I'm really not too worried about it. I'm going to live my life, and then die. I don't have someone holding on to my arm, or looking over my shoulder 24/7, 365. I can't put energy into that. There's just too much in my life to worry about, because at the end of the day I can get all worked up and read all the books and do all the research of who's controlling what, and then I can stand back and say to myself, "now what did reading all those books and doing all the research get me?"

Like, my life isn't going to get any better because I read all the books and did all the research. My life will stay the same, and now I'll be more upset and worked up. It's okay, you can have all the fun reading and researching and have a better life because you know who's controlling who. As for me, I'm perfectly fine.
SW-User
No we won't . We are in the 6th mass extinction. Past the tipping point. The end of the line..
Renkon · 36-40, M
@SW-UserWhy do you believe that? Is the calculation based on science?
SW-User
@Renkon yes all over the internet, in books, in a few brains atleast. Not making it up. I believe it because I like having the truth in my head unlike a big portion of my fellow murkans
Ynotisay · M
I think there will always be separation and enemies will exist. I see it as being part of the human condition. Animals in the wild kill over habitat or hierarchy. The difference is they do it without emotion. Humans have always fought against each other and always will. The safest country in the world is consistently Iceland but they still have crime and division. It's baked in to the human cake.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Ynotisay Are you implying that our differences are inherent to who we are as human beings? Do you think that the level of intolerance has reached a catastrophic scale? Or will everything eventually balance out?
Ynotisay · M
@Renkon Yeah. I actually do believe conflict is built in to the human condition. I don't stray to far from the fact that humans are animals. Cognition separates us but that doesn't negate some instincts. Fight or flight, in its various forms, is applicable to humans too. And I actually don't think intolerance has reached a breaking point. But I do think what takes place online makes that seem that way though. And sometimes perception is just as important as reality. That's how things feed themselves. 👍
SteelHands · 61-69, M
There are people on this world that don't have the luxury and privilege of believing in such impossibly ridiculous idealisms. They are breaking their asses and risking their necks just to make ends meet who know better so you can pretend the world is a nice, safe, let's all get along panacea that nobody would mess up if we just give away what little we have and let some government jerk decide who gets what.

Take off your rose colored glasses. Face the truth. There's murderers, connivers, vile people of all kinds. There's ultra uber thieves that wake up every day in gigantic mansions. There's whole office buildings full of highly paid helpers of people that have no intention of stopping making life hard for most of us, the "unwashed masses."

If you think that regular people in any country want wars or hate whole groups of certain people you're just helping the bad ones. Please stop talking silly.
@SteelHands and yet world citizenship and the rule of international morality have many supporters among the poor!
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@Roundandroundwego so sez you and the elite rags I will call the multinational monopolists.

However I, a man of means by no means, know otherwise.
Nothing permanently. There’s just nothing we all value in the same way, there are qualifiers…

We value safety, but we can’t agree on what or whom we see as dangerous.

We value children, but we can’t agree on how to protect them, or whose rights it’s okay to ignore in that pursuit.

We value autonomy, but we can’t agree on how it should look; at what point does an individual’s "freedom" negatively impact the group ?

And, at least in my country, we’ve been backsliding; not learning from our mistakes, allowing people nostalgic for the "old ways" to take the lead. Unfortunately, if those ways had worked for everyone, there would’ve been no fight to change them.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard The final thing you said is a genuine thought. It wouldn't need to be altered if the oldermethods had succeeded. We must continue looking for solutions that could improve society's tolerance and peace.
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
It would take a revolution. But we let them grow so powerful, we're bringing knives to a gun fight. We've been divided.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@AlchemyFox Who do mean when you say 'Them'?
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
@Renkon it's a thought to ponder, but what I mean is those that hold power and use it for greed without a shred of concern of the impact or consequence it has to the people below them.
Undeniable proof the global orgs with soft fluffy names of trust… are the biggest abusers of human rights..
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout The truth will set us free. Whether you believe in the Bible prophecies or not “Revelation” means “revealing” and the word “Apocalypse” meaning the great revealing…tearing away (the veil of darkness”
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout And not only will the truth set us free it will piss us off big time. Have to watch for rioting this next time when it happens by those who are loyal to the country.
DannyW17 · 31-35, M
It would be difficult for that to happen. but definitely something serious is coming that will make humanity embrace each other
Renkon · 36-40, M
@DannyW17 That gives hope.
SW-User
Prob not ever, it looks worse than ever been.
Ynotisay · M
@SW-User It's hardly the worse that it's ever been. Not even close.
SW-User
@Ynotisay Yeah well we probably just know more about it due so much media and social media, the world is Drowning in too much information.
Ynotisay · M
@SW-User I think you're absolutely correct about that. And it's not just the information but the misinformation that's at play.
Cant unite people that hate each other bro
Renkon · 36-40, M
@ExperienceDLT No way?
Exactly. Some common and humongous foe. But only while that foe is a threat. Once it's gone, we'll go right back to our old bickering.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Unite against a common enemy. Hmm... may be we will have to create one.
LillyandJack · 22-25, C
Renkon · 36-40, M
@LillyandJack Aliens seems to be the best shot as of now.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Has humanity ever been united by anything ?

We've never been united by war; pestilence; economic growth; free market economics; faith....
twiigss · M
@Picklebobble2 9/11 seemed to bring people together, but even then you had people acting stupid
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Picklebobble2 Any idea what could unite us then?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Renkon Not really. Wealthy nations have always ensured there's a distinct dividing line between them and their poorer equivalents.

Pestilences like Smallpox; Mumps; Polio Measles and others are still prevalent in some poorer nations even today. Despite the existence of vaccines for many of them being in existence a long time now.
So there's a medical disparity.

Economics ? Wealthy nations either taking over excavations and mining and refining then selling the end product at a price the host nations couldn't possibly afford.

In fact that scenario is true of just about anything from Africa exploited by huge Western corporations from fruit to coal to oil.

Even covid did more damage in poorer areas of the world.
akindheart · 61-69, F
yes i think it will take another catastrophe of some kind to unite us. whether a 911 (God forbid) or a weather catastrophe, or a civil war, it will have to be big.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@akindheart How big a catastrophe? What do you think 911 did to the society?
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Renkon any attack on the US unprovoked will be enough. 911 left a life long mark on this country. i would expect something of that magnitude because the instigators have no respect for us
Ducky · 31-35, F
The end of the world. Everyone will be dead, but at least all will be together as one.

@Ducky That's the last resort. But who knows..
SW-User
Well Covid didn't work
Saw the worst in people during the pandemic
MethDozer · M
@SW-User I loved Covid because I didn't have to see anyone at all.
SW-User
@MethDozer I do miss lock down and social distancing ...
akindheart · 61-69, F
@SW-User that is the truth about covid not helping humanity for sure
Magenta · F
Nothing, it's never going to happen, imo. It is waxing worse.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Magenta Absolutely nothing? Have you given up on this?
Magenta · F
@Renkon It's not that I've given up on it. I just see it as the reality of it.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
It will take an Independence Day type invasion by aliens.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Starcrossed Many people, for whatever reason, seem to be leaning toward an alien invasion. It appears like we have exhausted all other options.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@Renkon sad, isn't it?
We're probably beyond help.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
The destruction of the petro dollar.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@therighttothink50 What impact will such an event create?
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
@Renkon turn America into a third world country and make its citizens poor.
Bleak · 36-40, F
Conspirators won’t let that happen.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Bleak Are you talking about Politicians?
Bleak · 36-40, F
@Renkon Oh wow!! Nice alternate name for the politicians.
We're United in our objecions to the current hegemon.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Alien invasion. Or death?
Dino11 · M
An alien invasion. 🛸 👽
Renkon · 36-40, M
@Dino11 To what extent is that possible?
Killer aliens from outer space
if the Aliens show up,,
ABCDEF7 · M
DDonde · 31-35, M
An outside threat
DDonde · 31-35, M
@Renkon It would have to be non-human
Renkon · 36-40, M
@DDonde Do you think such entities exist?
DDonde · 31-35, M
@Renkon No idea
It won't happen
We will only be united in our extinction, which will be to the benefit of all other species (which comprise the actual majority of life on Earth)
@BlueGreenGrey Profound.
@bijouxbroussard I don't know what we're missing, maybe some crucial DNA sequence, but we've had hundreds of thousands of years to evolve, and we haven't, and that past seems like a good predictor of the future

All we've advanced as a species is our technology, not our behavior or our values

Even existential threats to our species do not unite us, in sharp contrast to Hollywood imaginings like Independence Day (which seems to be echoed throughout this thread, ironically) ... the pandemic, climate change, the nuclear era, the failure to regulate AI all point at the reality
Renaci · 36-40
Death unites all people in a common place and cause. Kings to peasents are all buried in the same ground. Death is the great equalizer.
