What will unite humanity?

Will it take massive natural disasters and tragedies for us to finally put aside our differences in caste, religion, race, and geography and unite in a needto survive? Or will we be sufficiently inspired by love, empathy, and compassion to do so?

What will it take to unite us?or will we ever?

I think there will always be separation and enemies will exist. I see it as being part of the human condition. Animals in the wild kill over habitat or hierarchy. The difference is they do it without emotion. Humans have always fought against each other and always will. The safest country in the world is consistently Iceland but they still have crime and division. It's baked in to the human cake.

@Ynotisay Are you implying that our differences are inherent to who we are as human beings? Do you think that the level of intolerance has reached a catastrophic scale? Or will everything eventually balance out?

@Renkon Yeah. I actually do believe conflict is built in to the human condition. I don't stray to far from the fact that humans are animals. Cognition separates us but that doesn't negate some instincts. Fight or flight, in its various forms, is applicable to humans too. And I actually don't think intolerance has reached a breaking point. But I do think what takes place online makes that seem that way though. And sometimes perception is just as important as reality. That's how things feed themselves. 👍
