What will unite humanity?

Will it take massive natural disasters and tragedies for us to finally put aside our differences in caste, religion, race, and geography and unite in a needto survive? Or will we be sufficiently inspired by love, empathy, and compassion to do so?

Exactly. Some common and humongous foe. But only while that foe is a threat. Once it's gone, we'll go right back to our old bickering.
