Bad temper that I've spent more life trying to keep locked up rather than let out. Almost killed a guy in a bar fight and pushed a pool table through the wall at the bar.

I'm like an F5 tornado and when I get that way...I run my mouth. To stop myself when I can... I completely shut down and stop talking to everyone.

Depends how close I am to inner peace.

Working with troubled students, I could not afford to lose my calm.

So I always had to act quickly, avoid confrontation, deflect, use humour and move on. Looking in the distance helped, as did breathing slowly. Shouting would achieve nothing, so lowering my voice helped. Thinking as I speak. A smile always helps.

As a boy I had to witness verbal and physical abuse. Retreating into my room, listening to music, singing, playing the piano, or going for a walk, being friends with nature, enabled me to move on, seeing my friends, an only child.

I’m naturally very calm, but in the past I’ve had to learn techniques to deal with confrontational situations. The Zen masters have a lot to offer, so do the writers of the Psalms. The image a fountain, or running water helps.

I’ve always been able to resort to humour, my best defender, deflector and my friend.

I get frustrated and overwhelmed and always try to remove myself to be alone but their have been a few times my partner wouldnt let me leave and when I felt cornered I threw stuff to get away.

I have a very bad temper but I hide it well. Unfortunately I fear what may happen if I ever lose control, however I also fear what might happen if I don't lose control. Either way someone is likely to get hurt.

I’d compare it to an eruption of Mount Vesuvius, if it weren’t for the fact that when I’m really angry, I get very very quiet. Usually I walk away, calm myself and only then return to address the conflict.

I tend to not get angry much, I’m good at keeping myself under control, I can explode though if my buttons get pushed too far. 🤯

It’s a rare thing for me but just flashes. If it’s directed at someone near me, I leave or swallow it. I will not be sensible if I speak, and there’s usually more to what I’m mad about than the part that’s making me mad. If it’s directed at something else, there will be a short tirade, and then I move on to greener pastures.

I rage. But I do it alone.

I don't have a temper. There are other ways.

Unfortunately , my temper goes from 0 to 1000 in a millisecond! I see red! I’m trying to change that but easier said than done.

These lyrics don't exactly relate to anger but something equally troubling. Maybe not, but when you said you "retreat to headphones and music" you reminded me of this tune by Benny Goodman:

I really don't have a bad temper. I keep my mouth shut and my anger bottled up inside me.

I try to find ways to calm myself down, think rationally about what I am angry about, and then have a discussion about it, rather than just yell at the person.

But that does not always work, and sometimes I can explode.

It can get very bad if needed. But now days I get more frustrated with things. I tend to just walk away or go for a drive somewhere

I don't have a very bad temper, but I never forgive and I never forget.

I try never to get angry amongst strangers because there are too many evil and crazy people who become triggered and evil when prompted….

My mouth gets me in trouble but when I am really mad I just get silent.

Bad. I have much more power over it than I had before, but that might be a subjective illusion stemming from my amount of give-a-shit having shrunk immensely.

I learned to be calm in the vast majority of the sistuionships but the more piss I get the thick the new York accent gets.
