@SandWitch I’m sure that’s in store for me. We’re working on getting there. Right now, we just repeatedly set ourselves up for failure every… single… day… and then, when failure happens, we cry victim. Anywho, I’ve got quite the camp of dependents now. I’d be doing anyone else a disservice, bringing them into this household

No, there's a reason they are homeless. The second they get mail delivered to your house it's extremely difficult to get rid of them. There were neighbors of mine who partied but were nice guys and they had jobs. After a while more and more people were always at the house. When drugs started to be sold out of the house the Police showed up a few times. Those 2 guys moved but the drug dealers stayed. It was months before the landloard finally got rid of them.

I offered an older busker a room for the summer cause I liked his music and I thought I might learn something, a few years back, and he liked the room while he left his equipment on the street to come and look at it but he decided to continue to sleep outdoors. He didn't know to trust me, I imagine.

It doesn't take long before they start bringing their problems, drug habits, and their other homeless buddies to stay.
Even if we are talking about bringing in a friend who isn't homeless YET, eventually that friend will bring problems. Like unable to help with bills yet receives 5 or 6 more packages from Amazon each week, or needs to borrow YOUR car all the time, or has a hard time finding a job but has no problem finding randos on dating sites to sleep with.
And of course they will, at the very least, try to suggest in roundabout ways that one of their friends or relatives needs a place to go.
And this is a "good" room mate. Bad ones, don't even ask.

I would have to think long and hard. I have helped two people with staying at my place long time ago. One was a person from work. It was bad. So I got rid of him. Then my youngest brother's gf. She was a slob snd hogged the bathroom while my then hudbsnd had to get ready for work. Finally got rid of her. I value my home snd my life a lot. I would likely offer to lend them dome money snd not expect it back. People seem to have no respect in other's homes.

@Dv8rs There is also no solution in helping the homeless through stuffing two tortoises in one shell. If we don't throw away trillions of dollars on wars, there would be no homelessness and hunger. And most importantly, no danger of instigation of violence and military attack from America.

It really depends on how well I know them. My mom recently had a bad experience inviting someone she knew who was in that situation. They threatened her and wrecked her house, and wouldn’t leave until she got the court involved after they ignored an official eviction notice.

... just do a bit of basic research, you'll find that Liberal run States have WALL 2 WALL homeless people, whereas in Republican States, there is a problem, but not as MEGA extreme

@sree251 He was in the concourse, near the baggage claim area. it is not uncommon to see that here in California. Rent is too high and they become homeless due to no fault of their own

It depends. Just because you know them doesn’t mean you are safe with them. They could be an addict, and bring all that entails to your home. However, I have paid for accommodations and food, and hospital bills for a very long time for some, although they don’t live near me.

@Dv8rs Yes, make housing affordable, as well as, everything else that we need to live a good life. Why are we not doing that? I think we are going about it all wrong living selfishly. All this talk about war is going to make more of us homeless. There are millions of Syrian refugees displace by our meddling. Ukraine is another homeless causing horror.
