It's no secret I'm morbidly obese

But I found that watching youtube videos about My 600lb Life keeps me from eating as much snacks/chocolate as I used to.

I just got super emotional over a clip where dr. Now told a patient he was proud of her. I'd die a happy man if he ever said that to me, ngl.

Small plates, and small portions is the answer.
No comfort eating between meals.

Exercise helps, not an expensive gym.

Discuss with your doctors a diet. I’m on a low gi diet, as I live with diabetes teo.

I crave snacks when I am watching tv at night, and at no other time. It's VERY hard to turn off those cravings....but I have found that sugar free honey lemon cough drops, which I keep in the house ANYWAY...occupy my mouth, and the cravings stop!

@4meAndyou I use snuff (tiny bags of nicotine placed under the upper lip) almost every minute of my awake time. As soon as I take it out I have to either replace it or eat, so replace it I do.

@LordBarbossa Unlike snuff, lozenges or even sugar free candy won't give you mouth cancer.

@4meAndyou I'd love to stop using nicotine, but first thing I need to quit is my alcohol abuse. Then candy/snacks, and only then will I be able to quit nicotine.

In high-school I would watch episodes of my 600lb life while working out on the elliptical machine. It was great motivation. It helped me lose weight.

@PinkMoon main issue is the fact I hate cooking (I get too stressed out) so I'd rather grab a quick treat than actual food.
PinkMoon · 26-30, F
@LordBarbossa Food is a number's game. The truth is you can lose weight eating anything as long as you are at a calorie deficit. There are websites that calculate how many calories you need to eat to lose weight. After you have that number you use it to budget what quick treats you can afford for the day. Sometimes I eat complete junk but I don't gain weight because I budget my calories.
LordBarbossa · 36-40, T
@PinkMoon I know of an app that lets me keep track of calories, but it doesn'lt take into account my severe sleep schedule issues sadly

you got this
you can do it
LordBarbossa · 36-40, T
@Matt85 Trying the best I can for the time being. As soon as I've lost a bit of weight through not eating snacks/chocolate, my back will hopefully be ok enough to let me go for walks 👍 For the time being, it hurts too much to walk more than a few hundred feet.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@LordBarbossa Keep up the good work and dont forget that you can do walks, sit ups and pressups at home.
LordBarbossa · 36-40, T
@Matt85 damn right ☺ Thanks for the support.

Practise portion control and stop blaming others for your "condition"
LordBarbossa · 36-40, T
@MarkPaul Not blaming anyone for my weight. And my problem isn't eating too much, but the wrong food. But thanks for your input.
