Yep, got paid to sing for rod Stewart

QCDog2659 · 61-69, M
Yes. Including Paul Revere, Sly Stone, Ron Howard, and Sammy Davis Jr
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
@QCDog2659 groovy! For me all the Allman Brothers band, most of the Jefferson Airplane, Stephen Stills Graham Nash
@QCDog2659 Mark Lindsay was my Great Grandfather's neighbor in Portland, Cherokee Nation was privately dedicated to him, Smitty Smith, the drummer, his niece babysat my older brothers and myself when we were small children, I apparently got my wanting to drum from Smitty.
Jayciedubb · 56-60, M
Yes, James Caan, Nicolas Cage and his cousin (sister?) Sophia Coppola on 2 separate occasions. I went to high school with Cliff Burton (Metallica bassist RIP), Jack Del Rio (NFL player and coach), Jack Klugman

Edit: to be clear, I only went to high school with Cliff Burton. Jack Del Rio went to our rival high school and Jack Klugman was already washed up by the time I entered high school
Jayciedubb · 56-60, M
@Pfuzylogic yes. I met him after Godfather and before Rollerball. ..it was while they were filming a scene to the movie, the Killer Elite, on location in SF.
Pfuzylogic · M
@Jayciedubb Rollerball!
Some of the 70s SyFy pre FX will never be replicated.
Jayciedubb · 56-60, M
@Pfuzylogic right? We need another Charlton Heston lol. He was in most of them. ..and the disaster movies too. I'm wondering why they haven't remade Soilent Green? ..maybe it hits too close to home these days and they don't want to tip anyone off... lol
Random3838 · 36-40, M
I have meet a few over the years. Overall, they are just normal people. I was never impressed or "star struck" by any of them.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
A few baseball players during the 2004 World Series in St. Louis--Gabe Kapler, Bill Mueller. I shared a couple of beers with hockey HOFer Cam Neely at a sports bar during that series. I met Reverend Al Sharpton on a flight from Buffalo to Atlanta. I met Charles Barkley at a hotel when he was talking to the concierge. I knew tv commentator Bill Macatee in high school.
@windinhishair Rev. Sharpton comes to work at a church over in Oakland periodically, generally programs for young people that he’s helped establish. In person he’s surprisingly low key and humble. I remember on EP people complaining that he "caused trouble” but "wasn’t helpful”. They had no idea how much he helps people, often quietly, without media coverage.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard Lots of (mostly younger) people were going up to him for selfies. I waited until he boarded and sat down and went up to him, shook his hand and thanked him for all of the positive things he had done for others. He was appreciative.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
I spent a day with General Abrams (for whom the tank is named) as his supranumery guard, including riding in his command helicopter. John Fogarty dropped his kids off for a play date with my kids. Working as a night desk clerk during college, I checked in the cast of the old Bonanza TV show. How's that for a mixed bag? Those are the ones outside of my career, which entailed dealing with a lot of celebrities in the news media as business world.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Yes quite a few - mostly in the Fashion World 🙂🐼🥢
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@Dlrannie Still friends with some of them or are they in the past?
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@bhatjc I’m still in touch with many of them🙂
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@Dlrannie Good to hear. Hope you are having some wild times with them.🍸
Piper · 61-69, F

Pauley Shore, ZZ Top, I’ve been right next to Diana Ross and Steve Harvey, and when I was younger, I used to work out with Sid Vicious, the wrestler.

Celebrity.......hah. Well yes, yes I have. I worked with "celebrities" on movie sets back in the day. There are some normal ones of course. Apparently, I've been spared the psychos.....hah.
It's all good. Celebrities are just insecure people hoping to stay gainfully employed while hoping mankind doesn't forget them....
Literally
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
I have met Quite a few of my puppihood icons, From Wil Wheaton, and Zachary Levi to William Danniels, Cary Elwis, and Henry WInkler, I have been fortunate to have been to quite a few conventions where i was able to meet my idols, While some left me wanting, most have been very very amazing and incredible people

Once when up our local Social Club, Kenny Ball ("Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen" ) , playing a gig there, was relieving himself in the urinal next to me.

Does that count?

"Met" as in in-person?
Yes, more than one
As well as a number of losers who claim to be revered, but obviously aren't
bhatjc · 46-50, M
Have met a few. But not really talked to some. Which celebrity are you really thinking about?

I live near a lot of celebrities so, yes. Most of them don't act like they're any different than anyone else.
