Teenage logic

Last night my daughter asked me to sign off her online school diary: a daily record of the homework she has been set, feedback from teachers, extracurricular pursuits, etc.

All good until I came across an entry for Tuesday lunchtime: 30 mins detention for throwing dough at another girl during food tech lesson 🤦‍♀

Me: "Why did you throw dough at Heidi?"

Daughter: "Because it sticks to clothes better than biscuit mixture." 🍞 👚 🍪

To which I literally had no answer 🤷‍♀

well behaved women rarely make history.

@Matt85, @Starcrossed Lol, yes, absolutely ^THIS

It makes perfect sense to me. My wife was punished at least once a week in high school for talking in class. Her excuse? "Marsha asked me a question and it would be rude not to answer her."
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@exexec Awh, can't blame a girl for that! 🤗
exexec · 61-69, C
@SunshineGirl That's why she was considered the friendliest girl in her class.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@exexec Better to make lots of friends than A+ all the time 😊

As a father of 2 girls now grown, the word teenager and logic never go together!
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@2ndtimeguy Thats true. But you can teach them "consequences" until their brains are fully formed..😷
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
She isnt wrong 🤣
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
Omg!!! I love this girl so much right now!!! When engaging the enemy, the choice of weapon is so important! 🤣🤣🤣
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@sarabee1995 From memory, two of my older sisters (her aunts) were also accomplished in classroom guerilla tactics at the same age, so this is a topic we shall be avoiding at family get togethers!
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
It's a great answer.

When you know you are in trouble, you might as well just take the piss.

(Remembers the job I do) Unacceptable behaviour.. she should be ashamed.

@sarabee1995 🤷🏻
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@sarabee1995 We have family members who are on the autism spectrum and normally I am so careful to be precise and direct in my language. This time however I was just paraphrasing what a teacher had written . . 🤦‍♀
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@SunshineGirl Makes perfect sense. There are people close to me who think I am on the "spectrum" and should get tested, but to be honest it wouldn't make a difference to me so I'm like no thanks. I am the way I am and I'm okay with that.

Awwww! 💖💖💖 Bless her heart no wonder she got detention for throwing food! 😱😱😱 At our home me and the kids sometimes have baking flour fights but obviously not in school! 🤣🤣🤣 She's still a star in my books though! 💫💫💫 Even when our kids are naughty we still love them! 😝😝😝
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@MommyLucy We do. Even when they are covered in flour and need a bath! 🤗
GkB01 · 51-55, M
Not something I would have done, but reading the reasoning for her doing what she did, has made me smile
Convivial · 26-30, F
There's a lesson there... Ask the right question 🤣
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Convivial Absolutely. I instinctively thought that's a reasonable answer, and by the time I remembered I was meant to show parental disappointment she'd scarpered!
Convivial · 26-30, F
@SunshineGirl i think it's time to reflect that maybe, just maybe, she's smarter 😜
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Explain to her the joys of pancake batter...😷
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@whowasthatmaskedman Advanced battle tactics 🍳

What more does a parent need for an explanation!!
Definitely some logic there! 😂
