@basilfawlty89 @Elessar I've told check out that he's the type of guy who, by comparison, makes Biden on his worst days sound coherent lol
@Elessar hey your a good dude in your own way. Im going thru some shit. I took my iratation of liberals out on you, dont let it bother you.

@MasterLee Sure buddy, you're convincing no one, at least no one who understands conservative living-in-a-closet complex. Other typical example, showing who's actually perverse (while accusing others of their very own perversion):

🤔🤔🤔 If Americans live in a free country, then we may not ban legally recognized religions of any sort. Even Satanism has two main branches which are now legally recognized in the United States. Voodoo, or Voodoun, is also a legally recognized religion.

There are cults out there, however, which are NOT legally recognized. They fleece their members, stalk them and threaten them, force them to work like slaves, and even, at times, encourage them to commit suicide, or trick them into doing so.

There are some terrible stories out there. Really terrible. There are cults where you are not ALLOWED to leave. There are cults which prey on their own female members, (even children), and take away all their freedoms.

Extremism of all sorts, usually associated with legal or illegal fundamentalist religions OF ALL SORTS, is usually some pretty hairy stuff, and most normal and sane people reject that, just as they would reject a cult.

There are even some who call Progressive liberalism a cult...a religion. If that is true, Progressivism should definitely have a sanity check, and although I would LIKE to see it banned, again, we live in a free country, and we may not ban them.
Nimbus · M
@4meAndyou Great answer!

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yay, we have a BC already 😛

No, but there is a vile, bloodthirsty cult that calls itself a religion, that should be wiped from the earth.

Not sure I'd ban any religion, but I'd probably ban religious K-12 schools and hear child abuses cases for anyone indoctrinated into bigoted and unsubstantiated beliefs.

@Azlotto Damn thankfully my house has ventilation
Oster1 · M
No, because I believe in freedom, even ones, I disagree with. 😊
Nimbus · M
@Oster1 Me too :)
I don't think any religion should be banned.
But I think people should take a close look at what a religion offers and see if it fits their needs before they take it on as a life style.

The problem is, a lot of people are gullible and are looking for something to save them from their fears and despair. And the pressure from those who belong to a particular religion, can sway the needy into getting them sucked into something that isn't necessarily right for them.

I think most religious people are either born into religion, or are coerced into it by those who need to have their insecurities satisfied.
They're looking for more people to become members of their club.

the left and right political religions
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Stargazer89 I would say a radical conservative would be more on the white supremacist side and I dont say that the way the left call anyone on the right a white supremacist, when I say it i mean the real thing.
I do not consider you to be a radical conservative. I mean I dont really know you to try and claim that anyway. You have some extreme views on certain things but who doesnt?
I dont support abortion either, so to them That would make me a extreme conservative also in that case
SW-User
@Torsten I'm not convinced white supremacists are affiliated with the right.
@SW-User white supremacists is another race card the Dems pull

Anyone who cares about this nation's identity and history is labeled as a white supremacist

Dems want to tear down southern heritage and ban the Confederate flag. I embrace my southern heritage and that makes me a white supremacist in there eyes
Budwick · 70-79, M
Islam is actually a political ideology pretending to be a religion. It's followers have a goal of world domination - at all costs. I think we could do without that.
Nimbus · M
@Budwick 👍

No. I hate all religion, but I’m also a firm believer in the right to free speech. That includes freedom of religion.
Allelse · 36-40, M
None of them, but if a religion comes along that has "Kill all mailmen" in their commandments, well, they can keep their religion but we'll still arrest them if the start killing mailmen. There's all kinds of insane stuff in every religion, but as long as nobody goes around doing any of it then we let them believe in what they like.
Nimbus · M
@Allelse Good point.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Nimbus Thanks!
Thodsis · 51-55, M
I don't think that the prohibition of ideas is something that ever works.

If people want to believe in strange things then they will continue to do so despite any attempts to convince them otherwise.

Reducing the power of religious groups would be a good thing though.

They are just 'hobby clubs' and shouldn't get tax-exemption.
Nimbus · M
@Thodsis I concur.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Scouserism - well it is a nasty religion
Nimbus · M
@nedkelly Should be outlawed!
Sazzio · 31-35, M
Good Q! I don't think any Religion should be banned... only if it creates Chaos for other people. Taliban isn't really a Mainstream religion just a bunch of misfits who stole a Religion.

Also certain practices of Religion may be banned in Foreign countries . I.e. Sariah Law has no place in United Kingdom. UK has Mosques, prayer rooms and Education, certain careers allow prayer time for Muslims. But Sariah Law? That is best left in Pakistan.

If we look at Sikh Religion? Sikhism teaches HOW to live and behave in society without being a nuisance and a burden to others or yourself. There is ZERO tolerance on "Sacrifice" others, yourself and definitely no own Laws imposed regarding Court or legal system. WELL, there MIGHT be but again it is purely for the individual running the system.
Nimbus · M
@Sazzio Good answer.
Justenjoyit · 56-60, M
I think they should all have a week to show real hard evidence on if their religion actually is real If not then it should be banned.
Nimbus · M
@Justenjoyit Interesting.
Eternity · 26-30, M
All of them.
Nimbus · M
@Eternity Why's that?
Eternity · 26-30, M
@Nimbus because they do more harm than good. Just another means by which a great many people can be manipulated by a prominent few, and for fools to be separated from their money. We have enough of each of those already.

Basically religion should be banned for the same reason crystal meth is; sure it makes a lot of people feel good but it's way too easy for that shit to turn you into a maladjusted nutcase who can't function without it.

Nimbus · M
@elafina Good point.
elafina · 36-40, F
@Nimbus I don't believe there's anything wrong in religions, they're a part of culture, but if ppl create unbearable rules and structures around them, that's the problem

The Cult Religion Scientology & The Trump Cult
Nimbus · M
@JohnOinger The former has come in for great criticism and deservedly so.
Nobody should force their religion on another.

Nobody should prevent another from practicing their faith.

What we should insist on is that the norms of a modern democratic pluralistic society never cede to those of any faith. Not a single one.

I don’t think any should be outright banned. Besides, that’s actually impossible thank goodness. I do believe that Christian Nationalism should be seriously monitored and is a cause for concern.
@Pinkstarburst is that what CNN told you
@Stargazer89 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s what I see and hear from area churches in my county…sadly. And also from my state representative.

I wouldn't mind seeing the status of Scientology as a religion removed

I think Islam is toxic and at odds with Democratic principles. It is disturbing the degree to which extremism has infiltrated its centres, eg it was found that 1 in 4 mosques in Britain dispersed extremist literature

I don't think it needs to be banned but certainly we must stop banning criticism of Islam. It is ridiculous that a woman in Europe went to jail for saying that Mohammed was a pedophile - because the court determined he wasn't a pedophile because he didn't ONLY have sex with a nine year old
@SW-User I agree about Scientology. I don't know how it manages to pass itself off as a religion. They don't even have a God concept
Nimbus · M
@SW-User 👍

I support freedom from religion. In the comedy movie Dogma, it was mentioned that Jesus liked ideas rather than beliefs. Saying people will kill for a belief much more than an idea.
Nimbus · M
@BlueSkyKing Will check that out.
@Nimbus Funny picture with a good cast that raises interesting issues.
Not the religious ideology but any legal organization that engaged in sanctioned or widespread corruption, or systemic illegal behavior, should be vulnerable to the same laws as everybody.
Nimbus · M
Just my opinion but i think they are all corrupt it is just used as a method of "control" religion nowdays isnt really about a religious belief it is only a control tatic to control a mass group of people
Adstar · 56-60, M
There are plenty but if you ban them they will only go underground.. An underground movement is far more destructive in the long term then one that is out in the open and subject to criticism..
