How old were you when you lost your virginity?

@zeframcochrane I promised her that I loved her too much to do anything that might hurt her, including risking getting her pregnant. Several friends made that mistake with their girl friends. I had plenty of fun with her, just not sexual intercourse, and I didn't know for sure she was doing it with others.

Fuck I'm just getting to know an awesome girl right now who's 22 and she's been around the block and whenever she talks about how many guys she's fucked I can't help but think "so provided this ever went anywhere I'd be number 2..3...5...7."
I think I'm probably around number 8 or 9. Can't get that thought out of my head that like, well, she'll never love me the way I do her. 'Cause she's it for me, she has every part of me, only woman.
But...there was a guy that "planted his flag" before me so it's not nearly as special.

On the plus side...that thought comes hand-in-hand with the following thought: "God she's going to know how to give amazing head".

@JustNik Yeah I don't know if I'm doing it right considering the number of women who have left upon learning my number (or lack thereof). I guess I just got lucky I didn't lose it to them first before they revealed their level of shallow.
I think I might never end up with someone, terrifying to think I might be in my 30s by the time I do.
I mean, would you date a virgin? Probably not.
Plus the woman I have a crush on is in your age range.

@VirginMatchmaker The part in my life where I felt really embarrassed and unattractive and wondered what the fuck I did wrong was when a guy who's like 300 lbs and talks about women really disgustingly told me how he had sex when he was 12 and was insulted when his girlfriend at the time (he was 25 and I was 19) automatically assumed he was a virgin.

Fast forward 5 years now and he's married with a kid, which is what I want, but he and his wife have massive issues and I'm sorry to say but he's aged like 20 years in 5 years.
At least being single forever has allowed me to improve and keep up my appearance and I've gotten ripped during the pandemic.

Look I'm useless with women but I've been married twice and both failed. I'm massively overweight but my partner is 14 years my junior.

@VirginMatchmaker Well. I'm friends with a dominatrix who is sort of like an older sister to me now. Lovely, sweet lady. And she's helped me a lot in my life and according to her...my personality.
Not sure what she meant by that, I intend to interrogate her but she's going through her own stuff right now.

Tbh I just don't know. Women were never "falling over themselves" at me so that's just a dream, ripped or not.

@zeframcochrane Yes, it was older than most especially back in those days.

I didn't plan on 27 as some magic number. I was not holding off for religious reasons. I will say that I did not think much of the idea of too-casual sex or pick-ups. And I didn't exactly trust most of the women I had met previously. They mostly wanted to get married at any cost or simply get knocked up. So much for 70's Women's Lib. I was waiting for someone I could trust, someone I felt right with but not in a "high-horse" religious/moral way. Although I guess what we'd refer to as "morals" or values did play into it.

Do I regret waiting that long? Yes and no. Doing it earlier wouldn't have killed me I suppose but it was what I'd call super-duper wonderful and had that "worth it" quality to it. I don't think anything else with any of those other people would have been as good and would have downgraded the overall value of the experience.

@valentini This is what I wanted to hear. As a 24-year-old man still a virgin and waiting for someone I can trust and it's "right" with, this was the reason I asked, a hopeful story.
I wouldn't mind if I had to wait til 28 at this point. In fact I'm getting more comfortable with the idea of being alone as time goes on. Even though there is a girl WAY out of my league and WAY above my social class, that I fancy. A real Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams situation.
I don't expect to have a shot especially with all the factors
against anything potentially happening but that won't stop me from at least trying to win someone like her over. I still tried for plenty of other impossible stuff before and on the rare occasion, I've won.

Granted I've also taken things a step further than you though: I wear a purity/promise ring on my ring finger. Though, like yourself, it has nothing to do with religion or marriage it's just purely a personal values thing that I wear for when I do finally meet someone I love and she actually wants me, I can give her the other ring and she knows my loyalty and my devotion is never something that'll waver. I actually consider it more important than a marriage ring.
