I started to say "old fashioned" until I remembered some of the old names in my family: Agneta, Waldo, Archeleus, Leonidas, Archibald, Ophelia.... My kids and grandkids have a mixture of modern and old names.
@exexec sentient code will be processing all data the truth is eminent
Achelois · F
I’m not too keen on modern names, my kids have normal names but I spelled them differently to the norm.
My dogs had old names.

Older typed names. I don't know if I'd call them old fashioned. I picked out the names for both of my kids.

@HowtoDestroyAngels the oldest Hannah I know is only alittle older than me so I wouldn’t necessarily call it old fashioned
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@MommaBear it's biblical. Very old name.
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@DearAmbellina2113 oh my bad
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
I prefer more distinct names, new or old. I know it's tough being original with this many named people in the world. But I wouldn't want to sit in a room of 50 people and have a high chance of three other people also having my name.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I only care about how they sound to me and what associations I have with them. Both old and new names can sound pretentious and trigger prejudices if given to kids in certain regions.
I definitely prefer the most neutral international names that are easy to pronounce.

I love names bssed on nature or something natural. Rose, Crystal, flora, sky, Ruby etc..
I dislike names that sound like someone was desperate to win scrabble, Laquishia , Lleowynn? Nope

DrWatson · 70-79, M
I prefer traditional names.
In our family, first and middle names are often the names of grandparents.

I always wanted a son. I would have named him Ezekial! Rebekah if I had a girl.

I don’t mind newer names (I mean, my name is a last name turned into a first name), I just don’t like made-up names or “creative” spellings much 😩
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
I named my kids after tv/movie characters lol
Degbeme · 70-79, M
It really doesn`t matter to me, I do draw the line at symbols. 🙄
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M

TinyViolins · 31-35, M
Newer names are basically just older names with needlessly complicated spelling
Personally I prefer people named after literary characters or historical figures, so old fashioned names I guess

SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
@TinyViolins my children are named after literary characters. Moby and Frankenstein seem quite happy with their names.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SpudMuffin No joke, I had a coworker who named his kid Nosferatu. They call him Nos for short
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
@TinyViolins wish I'd thought of that! Poor kid!

Traditional names for the most part.
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@cherokeepatti I think all if not most of my kids fit into the old traditional names. Also side note… I thought I recognized your name on my other post but I definitely remember you! It’s been awhile hope you’re doing well!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F

@Submissiveiendencies actually that gets filtered by the sentient code, directive specifically to remove any filthy entities and language easy enough, don't have to destroy the entire thing just remove the offensive material and any connected personalities
