What’s the worst movie you ever saw?

luckranger71 · 51-55, M
In a theater? Phenomenon for sure. John Travolta is the worst living American actor.
Sunstone · 41-45, F
@Wol62 'Battlefield Earth'??
Oh no... 'holding up crucifix..'
Begone!!!!
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Sunstone Oh, it's my favourite book. Love it.

smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@likesnatural oh wow
Sunstone · 41-45, F
@likesnatural Ahh, Harry was good!
likesnatural · 70-79, M
@Sunstone The girl was and is a beauty, but not the movies.
@RedFlower
Yeah the LOTR movie was a bit better but still not great.
I can deal with it though but not the Hobbit, they really butchered the story so badly that it was not even worth watching
@Onestarlitnight Not THE worst but definitely a very expensive stink-a-roo. At most it could have been a great two part movie, but they padded the hell out of the story with a bunch of garbage filler. I saw the first movie in the theater with great expectations that were dashed 15 minutes in.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@Onestarlitnight I loved the Hobbit

@SalttyDawg I liked that one.

Dune 1984 version. You can't hear it, see it (due to the lighting) or even understand it. A disaster!
@Wol62 I did. I recorded it on VHS to cut through the commercials which dragged it all out into a 6 hour event. I unfortunately no longer have the tape.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@stratosranger I'm sorry, but it was better than the theatrical release huh?
@Wol62 It made more sense with the added footage. Lynch got cold feet in the middle of production and by the end the editing made it all the hatchet job that was released in cinemas. Was it better? Again, I think it was truer to Herbert’s vision but had subpar special FX and a director who wanted to just get outta town. I am hoping there will be a directors cut of the 2021 incarnation. If so, I would give it another try to see if that movie has a better flow as well.
Xanadu. Good soundtrack but really awful movie.
I would also rate the recent remake of Dune up there. Oh it looks great but wow does it veer off into a lot of stupid tangents that waste precious time that could have been better spent on character development. After Paul’s 15th vision of Chani I was done. He did have other visions too Mr. Villeneuve that could have been used as elements to carry the story along. Looking back on the uncut version of Dune from 1984, that movie actual did a much better job of sticking to the book. Of course it then would have been a 4 hour flick and suffered from a horrendous edit job.
@MasterLee OMG yes! 🤣 I think I have watched a total of 5 minutes of that movie and just couldn’t carry on. Good call for a bad movie
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@stratosranger it unseated killer klowns from outer space.
@MasterLee Wow! It takes a lot of fiber to replace a turd that large
Wizardry · 46-50, M
Lord of the Rings two . Walked out halfway through. Due to the story line being to confusing to understand
Dayman343 · M
@Wizardry It's really not
Wizardry · 46-50, M

smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@Wizardry man u miss the best part of the whole movie
PatKirby · M
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I almost walked out and asked for my money back.
fishescycle · 26-30
@PatKirby there are some genuine farcical laughs to be had in the book (even though I'm not fond of the genre)

But it doesn't translate well to the big screen at all. I wouldn't even try and watch it.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@PatKirby Adams is a fantastic author. I liked the planet factory scene in the movie .
Bignakedguy · 31-35, M
Hmmmmmmmmmm the remake of Whatever happened to baby Jane
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Bignakedguy How could you remake that without those three leads!
Sunstone · 41-45, F
@Bignakedguy I agree! I wish they would just allow classics to be classics and leave well alone. The Wicker Man was another one.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Borat and district 9
Sunstone · 41-45, F

Xanadu was awful. What was that film all about?
@Wol62 A mortal falls in love with a Greek muse. In the end they open a bar named Xanadu. Sing along! 🎵 Xanadu. Xanadu. Now we drink beer in Xanadu…🎶
Gene Kelly was somehow wedged into this hot mess too. Guess he needed the cash or something
Lostpoet · M
