If you were sentenced to a 3-year prison sentence, how do you think you would fare

Free foods and shelter for 3 years

At first it would be a disaster till you get used to the fact you don't have freedom any more but I'm resilient so I think I'd survive. At least that.

I'd be the one who keeps to himself and reads his bible.

I would be PETRIFIED.

I was a correctional officer for about a year not including training. I have seen and been involved in some serious shit. I wouldn't know what to do if I was inmate. Just keep my mouth shut.

For me it would be about survival I have never been in prison, but I am familiar with the system it's not a joking matter I don't know about any other state, but for the state of NC anything up to a year maybe 2 its county jail anything above that and it state prison Im not trying to sound like a know-it all just saying its about survival and always watching yourself

If you know how to move it's not as difficult as you think. There's more cameras everywhere now...which do not get me wrong it's action going to happen but the odds are even in the sky now...ppl have no real understanding.

I do not do illegal things because I would not like to be imprisoned.

Just as bad as the time inside would be the aftermath, being on parole and living with a record and the social costs of that.

A lot of things people take for granted are closed off to ex-cons.

I think i would do okay. Went through a full year of believing I was being sent to prison for several years when i was younger. I imagine that would have been far worse. I was wanting my trial to end and send me away just to get that over with

3 years is a long time, figure on 1.2 years and out if you don’t get in trouble. I don’t do well with cliques or groups, but I doubt the gangs would be very interested in a 65 year old tree hugging liberal. However I do have a lot of street sense.

Survival instinct kicks in and you learn to make a life for yourself however the dice are rolled.

Sooner you adapt to your new life and routine the easier it is.

In an American prison. I would exercise in my cell and become the buff informant person who secretly helps new kids but is neutral to the bullies. If someone tried to bully me I'd frame them. I would read a lot too.

I'm my country the women jail is more like a dorm so I could just be myself and make friends and keep up with my hobbies.

What lvl of prison? because there are high and low security and even jails within prison 😅

I think I'd struggle. I'd miss my cocoa at bedtime and I suspect some of the people in prison are not very nice if they don't get their own way.

I might not handle it well, if some one stabbed me.
Besides that I can stay in a place for few years what worries me is the life after prison.

i would like to hope i would be able to become indispensable to all factions to survive my time, i can make friends easily, and can figure ways to get and do what i need to do and done, so i am certain i would not be the prisons cumsock

I went a whole year awaiting a court decision while being told i was going to prison for several years.
Honestly it sucked. what sucked though was waiting for the decision, by the end of it i was wanting to just go to prison to get the waiting over with.
I certainly dont think i would like prison in the slightest but i do think I would be okay

Prison is not the place to be. But I've been in many a situation where I've came out unscathed, so maybe I could there too.
