It’s not so much “how dare he rename things,” as it is, “why’s he wasting time renaming things instead of working on making things more affordable.” He cares more about his ego than about our pain.
Canada is all bluster and socialist grandstanding . The US buys 73% of all Canadian goods and is responsible for 78% of their cash flow. They insist on having a trade deficit , so Trump is about to show them the art of the deal.
i mean, if we wanna use that logic, Trump is deranged by Carney by changing Lake Ontario to Lake America. especially when Ontario predates both countries, and some American towns are even called Ontario too.
@legendaryssjgsskaiokenevolved It's not a logical response. It's an escalation. Escalating further is engaging in the same behavior Trump is, and again, I can't help but note the hypocrisy.
@Carla I don't agree. It's symbolic either way. If Trump's renaming of Lake Ottawa is petty, then so is removing his name from a street as an act of retaliation.
Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.
It’s so silly, they do this here as well, change names, leave the names, all this nonsense costs money, surely there are better things to spend money on?
@Jackrules Americans can change the names of anything that is American. I might laugh (I look forward to the Donald Trump Capitol Building and the Donald Trump Canyon and the Donald Trump National Cemetery and the Statue of Trumpian Fascism, etc.) but they don’t get to require co-owners to comply. Within America the boot kickers may well obey their Great Leader but the co-owners (and the rest of the world) just laugh at you.
