He'll just farm it out to some of his buddies who will get rich off of the misery of those affected, OR, he will throw rolls of paper towels at them! 😱

exexec · 70-79, C
FEMA is far from perfect, but without it, what government entity will help victims of disasters? FEMA helped my family after Hurricane Harvey and people in the Carolinas are still waiting for help from Helene.
@exexec I know FEMA helped some of my relatives after Katrina. 🥺
@exexec you all voted blue and red and think "help" will result. No sympathy,!!!

@Roundandroundwego Always words of encouragement from R&RWG.

This goes back to the difference between the failed ideology of the "Confederacy" and the "Union". America didn't become "Great" and the envy of the World on a "Confederacy" of States making their own decisions but on a Union of States with the power of many making us stronger and better able to help each other when the need arises. Local State run programs often run into corruption and a lot more money being wasted, which is one of the many reasons the Confederacy failed in the first place. FEMA, like many agencies, isn't perfect but it has helped a lot of people in desperate need when it was needed...

I haven't researched FEMA thoroughly, but I do know they have an abysmal record. During the last flood disaster in North Carolina, they were notably absent. FEMA representatives were told that if they felt the least bit threatened by the disaster victims, they should leave immediately, without helping.

Sending snowflakes into redneck territory and telling them they can leave if they "feel" threatened is like giving them a hall pass to NOT do their jobs. Because snowflakes will ALWAYS feel threatened by rednecks.

I think the North Carolina disaster was the final straw for FEMA, in the minds of both Trump and Kristi Noem.

Trump would like to pass disaster funding on to the individual states, instead. That means that each State will have to develop and maintain the equivalent of a single state FEMA bureau.

This COULD be a very bad idea if the governors of said states are corrupt, like Gavin Newsome, or Pritcher.

The money will simply disappear, and the people will not receive help.

Not American myself, but in live of what happens anywhere else in the world... Instead of burning together he wants everyone to get the chance to burn separately. Will enough of the rich be rich enough to have several properties all the over the country though? I see yet another reality show there with celebraties crying over the fact that already two of their eight properties will have burned down
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
It's not going away. It's just being moved under a different agency, so there is more oversite and accountability. It will be more controlled by the states now.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@nudistsueaz As it should have been all along!
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@cherokeepatti I think so too. Should work better and faster.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti How about a director and managers that adhere to the program's original intent.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@cherokeepatti Don't dismantle the alphabet agencies, restructure them properly, that's how presidents fuck the government up worse. Here's a good classic movie that teaches true political values...[media=https://youtu.be/taDreDT3E6A]

I’d be curious to know what he plans to replace it with—and what his supporters in the paths of hurricanes and tornadoes will expect when the next storms come. 🥺
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard it's all apart of a reorganization for emergency aid. Project 2025 called for it I believe.
@DeWayfarer None of that bodes well.
RageAgainstTheMachine · 41-45, M
@bijouxbroussard I hope their property is destroyed by flooding and tornados and displaced amongst the population stripped of FEMA helping feed or house them collectively; Justice is swift.
FEMA does a terrible job in its current state. It's going to be restructured, not eliminated.
JSul3 · 70-79
Well, there's a hurricane that's poised to hit the east coast soon.

Maybe wait a bit and ask those folks that will be severely impacted what they think.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@JSul3 they are convinced he will save them, he told them so.
YoMomma ·
Fine thank you
robertsnj · 56-60, M
sad i understand the direction and why but i thought the idea of agency was a good idea.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@robertsnj disasters, infectious diseases, etc., do not stop at state lines!
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
I feel that its all fun and games until you need it.
helenoftroy2000 · 22-25, F
Slow or fast phasing
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
He seems to not understand that many of his actions hurt mostly his base.
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
@samueltyler2 lol i plea the 5th
@samueltyler2 Unfortunately, there seems no way to prevent it. We already knew he was crazy. We’re waiting for his actions to hurt his supporters only so they’ll wake tf up. 😳

What the american people feel about any decree form King Donald no longer matters... americans will soon learn to just do what they're told, to always look over their shoulder before speaking, and to never ever question any action taken by the régime.
Whatever! Socialism is where you do stuff for the good results! We're above and beyond that low class socialism stuff. War is good!
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
Phase that dept. out and give the money to the states, they know better what people need. Fema has screwed up time after time, wasting money that could help people.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@fanuc2013 You really believe that to be the case, don't you? That's just sad.
swirlie · 31-35
For a country that doesn't embrace socialism, it always amazed me how quick Americans are to demand FEMA's socialized financial aid to get them out of a jam.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@swirlie well now they have what they wanted, pull themselves up by the bootstraps style economy. I wish them all the best 👍 😅
swirlie · 31-35
@SatanBurger
...I don't know if that would actually work though, because most American guys where brown leather sandals with white socks and short pants.
AbbeyRhode · F
Don't care. They've been corrupt for years. Trump knows what he's doing.

FEMA is guilty of one screw-up after another! The feds should just give money to the states that know better what they need during disasters!
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@fanuc2013 Nah you don't deserve no disaster aid where you are, I hope you don't get any.

Audit it first.. see if you think they do anything good.. or just pilfer the coffers
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout The second answer is correct. How can they screw up so much and have the money that was budgeted for them.
Pfuzylogic · M
He doesn’t have a better plan.
LinuxBreaksWindows · 26-30, M
Doesnt surprise me, thankfully its going to hit red states the hardest lol

@Patriot96 with deep pockets, which is typical.

@cherokeepatti Blame the directors, the bureaucrats in current power, not the program.
