@Punches Nowhere "as much", no. In different ways and in much much smaller proportions. Arguably his blunders were two: Garland, poor management of Israel.
@Elessar I think I am the only one on the planet who has no idea what goes on in Isreal or hamas or gaza etc... I do not know who the good or bad guys are, why they are fighting etc.
I do know that every time I hear about another attack on Gaza, I think, "Is there even anything left of that place to destroy?'
One thing people cite is how he is against diversity. I do not think he wants to get rid of it, I just think having America's nose rubbed in it at every opportunity just got to be too much.
I mean do we really need to have entire sections of stores and websites devoted to BLM, Pride, and every other group? Do we really need miles of downtown blocked off EVERY summer weekend because of yet another cultural event?
It just becomes a nuisance.
Maybe, just maybe, trump isn't trying to eliminate groups, but just wants them to tone it down.
Normally on cinco de mayo, the neighbors at the end of the block have a real loud party for twelve hours straight. 2 or 3 in the afternoon til 2 or 3 in the morning. THIS year it was dead quiet. If I HAD to say something good about trump, well...
@Punches how come most of the people getting deported happen to be brown and black? There are illegal white Canadians. They're not being sent to a glorified concentration camp in El Salvador.
Black people and LGBT people have a history of state repression and violence against them. I think that's very valid reason to protest. Police brutality is still an issue and LGBT rights are rapidly being scaled away.
People have a right in constitutional republics/representative democracy to freedom of association and assembly. Do you complain about St Patrick's Day parades? Do you complain about German cultural festivals in Wisconsin? Do you complain about Holocaust Rememberance events?
As to Cinco de Mayo - most Mexicans dont even celebrate it. It's mostly Americans regardless of ancestry that observe it. But now Latinos should be afraid to embrace their roots and that's a good thing?
@Punches but surely it's people's right "prance along with purple hair a rainbow painted face" in a democracy that emshrines liberty and the right of free expression? These values go back to the Enlightenment Era and the Renaissance.
Again - freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of assembly.
As to loudness - if they are violating residential noise limits, perhaps complain to the relevant department?
I'm sure not all Latinos are partying loudly outside of normal hours. We aren't a monolith. We don't hold secret meetings where we come up with elaborate schemes to annoy white people. We have jobs to do.
Nope. Don't like him. Can't trust him. Wouldn't put him in any position of authority.
That said, every once in a while I'll agree with him or one of his policies. I'm willing to give him credit where it's due. But that's not an endorsement. I would still rather have just about anybody else in office

There was nobody else you agreed with at the time when Trump was running for office in 2024.
@TinyViolins I know, right? It was such a weird feeling to read the headline about him signing a bill making it illegal to upload revenge pоrn. That was like, "Wait, did I wake up in a parallel universe where everything ISN'T terrible?" And then he went back to saying and doing awful things, and it's like, "Oh. Never mind."
@Adogslife I don't understand how anybody can be happy with what he's doing. Maybe it's just because I'm in one of the groups he's promised to get rid of.
@basilfawlty89 I understand this, but what the poster actually said was
Lots of Jewish voters in the USA, some of whom are very prominent in finance and the media.
Who said, MOST ? He didn’t. And yes, if someone said "MOST blacks" etc., no, I wouldn’t be impressed. But that wasn’t the example I used, either.
I know this history as well as you do—and I just got through with someone who crawled out from under a rock describing Los Angeles’ black mayor as a "DEI hire". So they’re not implying anything now, they’re outright saying it. Donald Trump has made that okay.
But look at the context. He's saying, he was saying that in reference for support for Israel by the US and wealthy and influence Jewish people to bolster his claim.
Jewish people also aren't a monolith. Many Jewish people have condemned the Israeli governments.
@basilfawlty89 Yes, I know many. But what he was replying to was the obligation of the POTUS. Trump goes hard on supporting Israel the country, likely because of ivanka’s husband, and what he perceives he can get. (Remember when he actually scolded Jewish Democrats ? why was that okay to MAGAs, after they gave Biden such a hard time for saying to black MAGAS "…you ain’t black" ? Same message, just a different community.
@Kypro Just my opinion, but I believe Russia has some verifiable Trump/Epstein dirt. Think about it. Trump has no problems calling out or trashing the leaders of our allied nations or anyone else in the world. But never Putin, not one bad word about Putin or Russia...not ever. instead he bends over backwards (make that forward) to please him. Trump is compromised.
C'mon dude, do you only post about people you've personally met?? Lemme see your history: Musk's feud with tRump, Lindsey G, "Is Michelle divorcing Obama?" Seems you can't follow your own rule🤣😂
Well he's singlehandedly convinced Germany to rearm thanks to his own incompetence, and potentially the rest of the European Union to follow, so you gotta give him credit for that
@Elessar These are my concerns. It appears that history has no value and we're some very huge challenges in maintaining a free democracy where all belongs.
