Pretty much anything outside of politics. We can root for the same sports teams, enjoy the same bands, love the same foods, enjoy different seasons and holidays. We can bond over our pets and children, over similar hobbies, and for those who are into it, over different video games or books.
Part of the problem is that we increasingly live within certain bubbles, especially digital echo chambers, where we only see and hear those who think like us at the expense of those who don't. Most of the time people end up arguing with fake characterizations they project onto others than engaging with the individuals themselves. Like as soon as a label gets attached to them, they become a mouthpiece for some insidious agenda

As a Democrat, No. I don't agree with them on anything. Every single position I have is in alignment with the the left, I think just about the only left idea I've ever expressed aversion to is from each according to his ability and to each according to his need. Not anything political at least, Our hobbies perhaps.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
There's a lot the regular people, even those registered to different parties agree on. Which is a different set of things from what the politicians from each side tend to agree on. The divide between powerful and powerless tends to be larger than the divide between red and blue. But there's a lot of money invested in making people think the divisions are entirely red and blue. Because the powerful have a lot to lose if the powerless actually decided to join together.
Roundandroundwego · 61-69
@ViciDraco the two parties agree on that. They share a select set of donors whom they serve, in the ownership caste and use the state to battle and enslave the masses for the ownership caste.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
That's what some of us try to find out by engaging others on this site. Once you chip away at the rhetoric and get people to think for themselves rather than parrot memes, you find far more that unites rather than divides 🙂
Therealsteve · 31-35, M
@SunshineGirl That is unfortunately why so many of these leftists don't want open dialogue, and instead censorship, mocking, and violence.
NocturnalTide · 46-50, M
Nothing political, unfortunately. It has become ridiculous. If one side says yay, the other side says nay. The real tragedy is that now, it's made personal; many people cannot, will not be friends with someone affiliated with another political party--even if that person was one of their tribe, clan, family, or chosen mate.
Penny · 46-50, F
@NocturnalTide i was just thinking about that very recently. very true.
NocturnalTide · 46-50, M
@Penny It's tragic. Even if that person was amazing up until said discovery, no dice. So many assumptions, judgments, misconceptions that people are fine with losing a connection. Of course we will disagree, but to this inhumane extent?
Taxes, infrastructure, gun reform (believe it or not), immigration ... there are many issue we agree on > how we proceed is different.

Yes. They are heavily focused together on wars in each region
Arming Israel,
Breaking up Russia,
Containing China,
War across the Sahel,
Energy policy,
Transportation plans,
Single payer,
Education,
Housing,
Welfare
Stoking tensions in the Caucasus region,
Keeping labor cheap
Free trade
Austerity for all populations

@AuRevoir socislists and Green communists are leftists. Dems are liberals. There's a one hundred eighty degree difference. But stay confused and chaotic by all means! We understand that's important. And no way anybody trusts people who talk like that - pretending parties in power include any leftists. Since do be clear!
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
@Roundandroundwego Sorry but you’re gaslighting and thinking you can do what the Trannies by talking about pronouns and creating your own little hierarchy and attempting to box things into categories isn’t fooling anyone.
At the end of the day you’re all in unison with you depravity.
That’s like trying to convince someone there’s major differences to which pokemon game you’re buying within a specific generation. Gold and Silver are virtually the same game.

@AuRevoir I'm not for the current theories on gender dysphoria or any of the medical stuff being done. And I've never been a Democrat. I never spoke about pronouns, but accurate info didn't work, so you seem to be comfortable confabulating about me. Dangerous.
You seem desperate to keep the shootings and went off on gender to insult me, totally out of the blue! That's the best any mainstream uniparty American can do to fake logical argument against me. Good job.

War, taxation, censorship.....basically all the big ticket agendas they both agree on. Wedge issues, there might be a slight difference but ultimately it will be the same end goal.
Strange why they "debate" so much
Strange why they "debate" so much
wouldnt it be nice if they focused on those things rather than the opposite
Sadly not in today's toxic political environment.

I’d wager there’s enough space in the middle for a legit 3rd party
If you show someone a picture of Alice, idc if it's a republican or democrat, their heart will beat faster from sheer admiration at her beauty

When it comes down actual corr philosphies...... almost everything. Im terms of substance of actual political philosophies they agree on much more than they disagree on. They argue on minutea but in the big picture they arent mucb different.

Yes, having very old politicians still in power, they are so out of date with their ideology and beliefs

The Republican party that was truly a legislative party, has all but disappeared. They became the party that only said no to everything the Democrats tried to pass. Now it is the party of trump.
