U.S. Senator Alex Padilla of California was physically assaulted
6/12/25 - Senator Padilla forced to the ground, handcuffed, and removed from a Department of Homeland Security press conference by the Trump administration in Los Angeles.
It happened after Padilla identified himself and tried to ask Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem a question during the event, which was in response to the ongoing ICE raids and militarization against protesters in LA this past week.
This is not supposed to happen in the United States. This is fascism on full display.
If this is how the administration treats a sitting U.S. Senator, what are they willing to do to civilians? Senator Padilla said it himself: If this is how the administration responds to a Senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farmworkers, cooks, and day laborers throughout the country.
Trump and his far-right goons have already sicced ICE and their Gestapo tactics on immigrant communities across the country to carry out their mass deportation agenda.

Did you mention that he burst into the room while they were in the middle of a press conference and that is what earned him the escort outside of the room. I'm not saying it was neccisarily required but the SHS has a security detail to.
@GerOttman There is a perfect example shown to Americans, how this behaviour can be "good"..Thats a war time mentality. Now if it isnt a war, then it shouldnt be allowed by anyone.. And if it is a war, then its time both sides started to realize it.😷
I really want to know how Senator Alex Padilla "burst" into this hearing room. I want to see the video. And how is it NO ONE recognized the Senator from California.
The persons who manhandled and handcuffed the senator should be disciplined. And Trump should get the full blame for his part for this outrageous action.

The history of this exact kind of brutality goes back to the founding of the USA. But nowadays we have universal suffrage. The voters demanded fascism. It's unanimous and bipartisan. As a socialist I say right on! Democracy in action. You voted for this.
The Department of Homeland Security, and the agencies, the departments and the military people that are working on this operation will continue to sustain and increase our operations in this city. I was curious, on what authority they are removing a sitting US Senator from a public press conference. From what is reported so far, no charges were laid against Senator Padilla. So, physically removing Senator Padilla was just ordinary assault? As Judicial Subcommittee Member Senator Padilla had an interest in the press conference so I understand why he was there, but why was Senator Padilla removed?
@MarthannBann888 His polo shirt was clearly marked with the logo of US Senator. He likely had a wallet with his ID ...AND he was escorted INSIDE the room by FBI agents.
The people who voted for Trump will support anything the man does. I mean that. Anything. For them it’s easier to think they made the right choice than admit they made a wrong one.

We know what law tRump broke. U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer had said the president acted illegally in dispatching the troops.
Breyer found that Trump failed to follow the required process under Title 10 U.S.C. § 12406, which mandates that activation orders be issued “through the governors.” Instead, Breyer wrote, Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth “circumvented the Governor (and thus, the procedure mandated by statute) from the outset.”
tRump also violated the Tenth Amendment, according to this judge.
So tell us, please, @Pisciatto1, what law did Senator Alex Padilla allegedly violate while attempting to uphold the Tenth Amendment?
@Northwest Nope. Neither of those things. We know all of our neighbors. None of them know my wife’s maiden name. Also does not explain why she would have to show two forms of ID—both of which were government issued documents.
@JSul3 This seemed reminiscent of the officers going to schools to interview students about their parents—blind fishing expeditions based on their names. Had I been there at the time I would have demanded he show me his badge and provide me with the name of his immediate supervisor.

Nobody knew who he was! The only attempt he made to identify himself was AFTER he'd caused a disturbance and AFTER the police had initiated his removal from the room. Only then did he 'say' that he was a US Senator, but he never offered any kind of photo credential to back that up. Instead, he just showed up there and acted like Donald Trump and thought he could get away with it because that kind of obnoxious behavior has become the 'norm' for MAGA Republicans.

That's precisely what he said. He offered no physical credential like a security pass or anything that would identify him as a US Senator, so they thought he was a crackpot and wrestled him out the door. End of story.
...but Americans voted for all this, not once but TWICE. Trump said a long time ago that he would do this type of thing and he was true to his word.
My question is, where will Joe American now flee to in the world now that he is faced with the exact same shitte that his forefathers were faced with in England about 250 years ago, which is why they all ended up on this side of the pond as everyone scrambled to get out of Dodge by the boatload?
@KunsanVeteran Thats not going to happen and it would do not good anyway. What is happening in America now has taken hold and is an aggressive cancer. I hate to say this but the legal system will not stop it. It has one hand tied behind its back and is simply ignored when its not convenient. After WW2 the local people dealt with those who would deny them the protection of the law in a more speedy and permanent way. Then they dont come back and cause more trouble..(And you have no idea how angry at myself I am for believing that.)😷

Trump in a way is like the Late Saddam Hussein. As long as Saddam was around, the Middle East was under his full control and since Saddam had been around for a long time, his actions were very predictable.
Trump in that regard is exactly the same as Saddam. As long as Trump is around, the MAGA-right will remain under his full control and since Trump has been in everyone's face for 30+ years, his actions remain VERY predictable.
Like they say, it's better to dance with the devil you know than with the devil you don't know! Nobody knows anything about Vance.
@SandWitch But the trouble is, we do know how Vance came to be. Pushed at the Trump boys by Stephen miller of Project 2025 fame. Now we can speculate on the quid pro quo there. maybe as extreme as Don Jnr getting offers the VP. (there is a terrifying picture) But more likely legal immunity for all sorts.. So Vance is Millers boy.. And if Trump becomes troublesome to Miller, he will either have an accident or stroke or be removed as unfit to perform his duties..But Trumps current bull in the china shop routine is working well for Miller..😷
