U.S. Senator Alex Padilla of California was physically assaulted

6/12/25 - Senator Padilla forced to the ground, handcuffed, and removed from a Department of Homeland Security press conference by the Trump administration in Los Angeles.

It happened after Padilla identified himself and tried to ask Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem a question during the event, which was in response to the ongoing ICE raids and militarization against protesters in LA this past week.

This is not supposed to happen in the United States. This is fascism on full display.

If this is how the administration treats a sitting U.S. Senator, what are they willing to do to civilians? Senator Padilla said it himself: If this is how the administration responds to a Senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farmworkers, cooks, and day laborers throughout the country.

Trump and his far-right goons have already sicced ICE and their Gestapo tactics on immigrant communities across the country to carry out their mass deportation agenda.

Sat. June 14 join the No King's Demonstration in your area. There will be 1,500 demonstrations around the country. Trump must be removed from office, arrested, and tried for treason and other charges. THIS CAN'T WAIT!

Did you mention that he burst into the room while they were in the middle of a press conference and that is what earned him the escort outside of the room. I'm not saying it was neccisarily required but the SHS has a security detail to.

@Steve42 Show proof of him bursting in before making the baseless accusation.

@Steve42 "escorted" him out of a Press conference, all the way to the ground in handcuffs. A US Senator...And nothing will be done about it.. Thats America folks!😷

@justanothername The proof is right there on the Youtubes bro! Lady be speaking calmly and homie starts tryin to horn in shoutin over top of her. Got served! Maybe try being polite next time...
@Steve42 Did he? The video sure doesn’t seem like that’s the case. If you’re taking Noem’s word for that—well the video clearly shows that he identified himself and gave his title as a Senator. She lied and said he did not.

So forgive me if I don’t believe her word on anything.

@Steve42 I did. He got up to ask a question and was forcibly escorted from the room.
@justanothername First, this occurred in a federal building. Alex identified himself by name and as a sitting US Senator. He clearly stated he wanted to ask a question and was immediately attacked with excessive force. This is all clearly seen on the video.

Also one of the officers said that no recording was allowed and the video immediately ends.

If it weren’t for the excessive force and Noem’s outright lying about every single aspect of this disgusting incident it probably wouldn’t have even reached the headlines.

Now it’s definitely time for the Senate to take care of it’s own and seriously slap down Noem and tRUMP!

@Steve42 I watched a 35 minute You Tube video from Fox 5 in DC.

Padilla did not charge the podium where Noem was speaking. At approx. the 6:20 mark, the camera focused at Noem swings to the right, where Padilla is already being grabbed by security and being removed.

"We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate this city from the socialist and the burdensome leadership that this governor and mayor have placed on this country,” Noem said as Padilla started asking: “Madam Secretary I want to know why you insist on –” before he was grabbed by security guards.

Padilla was pushed to the ground and handcuffed after being hauled out of the room.

Noem is a lying pos.

She knows who Padilla is....then again, this is the fool who has no clue what habeas corpus is.

@justanothername I am unaware of any video of Alex entering the room—and frankly I sincerely doubt that any exists since he almost certainly was in place in the audience before the conference started.

I don’t have any idea where @Steve42 got that crazy idea unless it’s something Noem said. Since she’s already caught in several lies on the video, I wouldn’t believe any statement she makes. I would, however, love to see her questioned under oath and would take great glee in the perjury she would be charged with!
@JSul3 Either @Steve42 fell for Noem lies or he must have watched one of those Russian asset “news” networks play the actual video backwards. The problem with that second option is that they’d have to explain how Padilla, while bent backwards, was pushing that mob “forward” to rush the stage. Sorry, Steve. Study the Laws of Physics.

Your version simply didn’t happen!

@KunsanVeteran But someone said it did on the internet. So it MUST be true...😷

@Steve42
he burst into the room

By his own account, he was in a room nearby waiting to begin a meeting that had been delayed by Noem's press babble.

Learning of this he asked to be taken to that room and was admitted by an FBI agent and a member of the Secret Service

@newjaninev2 But that doesnt make a better story, does it? I am a little surprised they didnt have him coming through the door with an axe, like Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" in their version..😷

@GerOttman There is a perfect example shown to Americans, how this behaviour can be "good"..Thats a war time mentality. Now if it isnt a war, then it shouldnt be allowed by anyone.. And if it is a war, then its time both sides started to realize it.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Well obviously!
