My hope for congress....

I wont presume to say how the next Congressional election is going to go;its way too early to tell.But I will say what I HOPE will happen.My wish is that the Republicans take back both the House of Reps.and the Senate with huge majorities in an historic blowout.Then,I dearly hope that they promptly go about treating the Democratic party in the same way they are being treated now.......

Let’s hope another pandemic doesn’t conveniently come along, or another war, maybe China, then they could maybe postpone the midterms, or do the mail in voting thing, somehow I don’t think they are going to go quietly, they did it once, what’s to stop them doing it again?

So let's speculate what the Republicans will do once they take the House and increase their majority in the Senate.

Here are mine:

Open investigations into Hunter and Joe Biden's financial dealings in China and Ukraine.
Open investigations into Fauci's connections and influence on the Wuhan lab where Covid 19 originated.
Legislation addressing what has been colloquially referred to as (Critical Race Theory) and banning or restricting teaching/encouraging racist attitudes towards white people.
Legislation addressing transgenders in organized sports.
Possibly trying to come up with a compromise on abortion to make it legal but allow states leeway to restrict it.
Continue the proxy war in Ukraine against Russia unless of course its found out that Biden cut a deal with Ukraine to instigate this war with Russia.

So just a thought.........but if your listed age is right, you most likely live with mommie and daddy still. You have not lived long enough to have done anything in life but party and go to school. You most likely think a big full day of work is playing games for 8 hours. Likely have never held a job..paid a bill or have a clue what it means to be an adult.

@Graylight My suspicion is that many if not most of the people commenting on these issues on this platform have not experienced them firsthand in the manner you have described.If the criteria for being allowed to have an opinion on a particular issue is that you must have been affected by it personally,then lets face it:very few would have the right to talk about anything

@DavidT8899 That's a very good point. Age has little to do with willful ignorance. But it does create perspective and time enough to catalogue a host of experiences not accessible to the younger.

I think in the end, it's not about any of the traits of the people involved. Clear, authentic voices can be heard in the complete darkness. That's what we need on all sides right now.

Yeah, who cares about policy, it’s all about pwning the lives.

Because of gerrymandering, only around 30 House seats are even competitive. So if the Republicans win, it will be with a slim majority. I expect the Democrats to hang on to the Senate since the GOP nominated some terrible candidates like JD Vance, Dr. Oz, and Herschel Walker. Also Roe v. Wade being overturned will bring more Democrats to the polls than usual in a midterm.

History tells us mid-terms rarely reflect favorably on the President's Party therefore it would be relatively safe to say come November the Republicans will regain control of Congress.

In the last 42 elections...........30 times Congress has flipped...from what it was just 2 years before. Likely it will again. That don't say much........when it's happened 30 times out of 42 elections......but I'm sure trumpers will see that flip as God annointing them.

You didn't read the Mueller Report, did you? Russia's involvement in the 2016 election is known. Mueller could not conclusively tie their help to Trump, mainly because Trump and his acolytes refused to testify. This is all documented in the report, including the refusal to testify. You should try reading it sometime since you purport to want facts.

He also complained about Black men who abandon their children, and now we found out that...he's a Black man who abandoned three of his children (that we know about). Imagine how you'd be screaming if it turned out that Biden had some love children out there.

What will be hilarious is when we find out how many abortions Walker has paid for. I'm sure you'll excuse that with "it happened a long time ago" even if it was last year.
