My hope for congress....

I wont presume to say how the next Congressional election is going to go;its way too early to tell.But I will say what I HOPE will happen.My wish is that the Republicans take back both the House of Reps.and the Senate with huge majorities in an historic blowout.Then,I dearly hope that they promptly go about treating the Democratic party in the same way they are being treated now.......

So I take it you hope Republicans don’t abolish the filibuster?
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Theyitis you mean like the crats did?
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@MasterLee by “crats” you mean Democrats? Democrats did not do that, that’s why they couldn’t pass Build Back Better, Voting Rights, Earned Income Tax Credit for children, all kinds of things because Manchin and Sinema insisted on the sanctity of the filibuster, even though Republicans changed the rules on that when they were in power.

@Theyitis look up harry reid before you continue your rant

@MasterLee Is Harry Reid in the Senate now? Has he been in the Senate since 2020? He nuked the filibuster for most presidential nominees, including lower court judgeships because Republicans were abusing the filibuster in unprecedented fashion by forcing a lot of offices to remain vacant. Republicans nuked it for all kinds of legislation, thank you very much.

@Theyitis iow you have no idea what you are ranting about
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@MasterLee Why don’t you set the record straight?
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Theyitis because until you read and understand what I told you already, you won't listen. The two worst points in recent American history were democrats who killed the filibuster and foisted crap on us. Nothing any republican has done comes close. And I am not a republican.
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@MasterLee Against my better judgment I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt. When exactly did this happen? Specifically what legislation was passed because the filibuster got nuked? Because I don’t remember it and a quick Google search is turning up nothing more than what I already commented about how Reid abolished it for most presidential nominees because Republicans were forcing a lot of offices to remain vacant.

@Theyitis obamacare for one
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@MasterLee Bullshit. Obamacare was passed with 60 votes in the Senate.
