Does anyone else hate that they are introverted? 😔

zonavar68 · 51-55, M
Nothing I can do to change it about me, so I just learn to live with being socially awkward, anxious and freaked out by big groups of people where I can't read social cues, body language, etc.. Also I don't see a need to try and have a circle of friends, and prefer to be single and when not with any of my kids I prefer to be alone. I definitely would like a romantic partner who 'gets' me, but that's a practical impossibility.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@zonavar68 “nothing you can do to change it ?” I whole heartedly disagree .
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
@AthrillatheHunt Go on then if you're claiming to know how to change inate programming of the human psyche.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@zonavar68 you can do it if you try . Just my 2 cents .
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Introversion isn't a problem, social anxiety is.

Sometimes yes. I still like (want to like) people but I don't make friends at all. I would love just one or two friends, but I suck.
@AlchemyFox No, you don't. Not at all. 🥹 🫂

Introverts are deep thinking individuals, usually empathetic towards others. So no, I don't mind.😌
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
I'm introverted myself . I'm very deep . Goes through fierce suffering . Suffering at times not all the time but a lot of inside peace I get also .
Also at times when I think I'm introverted I think I'm a walk over or it could lead to be walked all over.
Everytime when I try not be me like Extroverted 95% out of a 100% I ends up demented .
I prefer being introverted myself .
I know where your coming at cause when your introverted you can end up turning everything in on yourself
GypsyMiss · 41-45, F
Yeah kind of. I live in a world of people who see my need for solitary as abandonment and that makes relationships very difficult.
Fishy · F
Sometimes....

I mean, I would love to feel energised instead of drained after dealing with people
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@Fishy totally drained.
BeJeweled · F
I dont know. At times I like it and other times I think wtf is wrong with me.
But it gives me comfort knowing Im not the only person like this.😌
Classy · 22-25, FVIP
Yes. I feel extroverted at heart but I can’t socialize even how much I desperately want to
twistedrope · 26-30, M
No way. Most people are shallow and I find them dull like pieces of wood. I don't enjoy that my bjj club members mostly talk about fighting, muscles and youtube and nothing else. I'm happy it takes energy to deal with these people. Means I've got the knowledge to distinguish between boring dull people and my small depth of wonderful company.
darkmere1983 · 46-50, M
no, i love it, i wouldn't want to be a loud mouthed extrovert.
darknessprevails · 26-30, M
Yes and no. Although I've pushed myself out of it. It still holds me back from having the communication skills I'd like to have.

However, the benefits of being an introvert outweigh the cons imo. We're able to self reflect and look inward to keep ourselves from self sabotaging. Something that many extroverts struggle with.
helsbels · 26-30, F
I can't imagine being any other way
I’ve always felt like I was an ambivert but my social anxiety confined me to a box.

I just be scared to open my mouth but I really want to
@CrazyMusicLover it’s game over once we finally get comfortable
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Pressure When I have to socialize with strangers, especially over something I really like, I get overly excited and blurt out words at the speed of light, mix a few things up and they just stare like..."What?" 🤨 😆 I just want to be done with the introduction phase as fast as possible.
@CrazyMusicLover omg fuck the introduction phase yes lol I’m am not my best self when you meet me.

Unless it’s an interview for a new job. Idk how I do it, but they always love me by the end of it. A normal conversation with people I’ve just met tho? Ugh, it’s embarrassing
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
Yep. It makes very lonely. 😞
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I’ve found it very inconvenient at different points in my life, yeah…🙁
deadteddy · 26-30, F
Sometimes I wish I was more into socializing and more into speaking with people, but I’ve always preferred my own company for some reason. And a few people that I like.
I’ve had occasional thoughts of an alternative more sociable personality that isn’t tired by the presence of many others
Plasticbag · 100+, M
I used to but you can’t change yourself.
Learn to love things about you and your life that extroverts wouldn’t understand.
TexasDude · 31-35, M
I don't hate it but I do wish I could occasionally rise above it better. That I could at least chat a little better with people
not really.
i hate i didnt know what an introvert is when i was younger..

would have made life easier.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
In 2024 we choose what we want to be. It really is that simple .
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@AthrillatheHunt have you ever read the book Quiet?
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@DoubleRings nah. I ain’t much fer reedin. Lol
eventtemple123 · 22-25, M
I do because I'm an extrovert deep down who's been traumatized into being an introvert.
teachmetiger210503 · 36-40, M
Introvert is the man inside it is only a matter of time before he comes out.
It hadn't been handy at times. But it's been protective.
Jlhzfromep · M
Yes and I work hard at not being
Magenta · F
No, I prefer to be!
RenFur · 70-79, M
I don't care for it, no.
MrFinch · M
I don't like to say 😔
CBarson · 51-55
No, I love it!
Dawgsfan3 · 41-45, M
Not really
sugarpie · 26-30, F
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Nah.
I can socialise, but I still hate being the centre of attention. But i get along fine in small groups and I have a rich inner world.
Not at all

I'm more likely to hate annoying extroverts and the general devolution of the human species

Rather than "fixing" my introversion, if anything I might prefer to be completely oblivious to how terrible humans can be
Magenta · F
@BlueGreenGrey I concur. 🩷
caesar7 · 61-69, M
Nope...I enjoy it!
