When I first moved south for medical school there were some things I had to get used to, sweet iced tea, pie being served with ice cream and y'all come back now!

You need to inform him that you do NOT say "yall", which is meaningless, but "y'all", a contracted form of "you all", which is the American South's way of being able to break the inability to distinguish "you" (second person singular) from "you" (second person plural).

The use of "you all"/ "y'all" makes clear that the speaker is addressing everyone in a group, not merely a single individual.

I think of the guy from New Jersey in our company who said I would never get anywhere with my southern accent. Later, when he worked for me, I laid it on thick.
