My 1st spouse was great looker, but a massive cheater, drug user and a abuser.

Looks can only get you so far. We only lasted a few years. My 2nd spouse we're past 20 years together and working on 30 together.

So what does that tell you

I am actually skeptical of very good-looking people. My experience has taught me “Handsome is as handsome does.”

And handsome doesn’t last forever and then you’re stuck with a terrible old person.

Only for the person who could be victimised by them.
Good looks have a weird effect on people. They are able to overlook a lot of bad in a good looking person.

@Cantsayno I was just thinking the same. I've known men who women didn't find attractive but after learning about the person and realizing the person had a great sense of humor, and a great personality equals instant attractiveness in my book.

@bijouxbroussard I hate that at times, because seeing the flaws is not helping this world get along, but what are you to do and not seeing them would make you very naive? 😞

@thewindupbirdchronicles My grandmother used to say "pretty is as pretty does". I simply interpreted that as meaning no matter how physically attractive one is, the effect is spoiled if you’re not also a nice person.

@bijouxbroussard Yes, and the world gives to those pretty. But it's also a stereotype. My girlfriend once met a girl so pretty, no one talked with her as all girls were jealous and all men felt underneath. The moral of that story, that woman still was just a woman, often without a friend.
