People who are in love don't leave a relationship just because it isn't suiting them.
If anything, that fragility is narcissism.
I would rather know the ugliest, darkest parts of my partner, their deepest hatreds for me, and still stand with them.
Than to not be laid bare in their presence, and theirs in mine.
Love isn't the ship, it's the ocean.
Love is a living thing, it's not static, it decays, it dies, it becomes reborn, it metamorphisizes, it is persistence beyond persistence.
Until one day it isn't.
And even then, if one still stands, it still lives. It still beats in the heart of that one who remains.

Could be a number of things. One that I’ve had experience with in the past is that he felt he didn’t deserve love and used running away as a way to prove that to himself. There’s no change coming in that scenario either, not unless he’s willing to change the narrative which takes emotional and mental strength that very few have after years of embracing that coping mechanism.

Women have to deal with men potentially being abusive and violent, and yet, they still manage to have faith in love.
