It could go a bunch of ways but I think the most likely is that celebrities will find and new place to go and it will either becoming a hang out for bigots or tech bros.
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@hdiddle well said. Twitter currently has been a suppressor of Non-Woke opinion and even facts.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@laotzu92 That’s what I’m screaming!
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@Oberon1 Byron York has in his Daily memo on The Washington Examiner today a piece on how the Babylon Bee, a humor site which especially likes to skewer the left (oh, horrors!), has been banned from Twitter because they will not take down their piece awarding Rachel Levine their "Man of the Year" award.
This is the sort of "hateful content" the Twits has banned.

He’s spent 1 month challenging censorship.. be awefully embarrassing if he continued with it. The algorithms and shadow bans..
don’t care what he does as long as he walks the talk of free speech
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout He won't. He can't stand personal criticism. It's become a badge of honor on Twitter to be blocked by him.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
It is amazing how one side of the political ideology is flipping out. I think It will be fine.
PatKirby · M
@FreeSpirit1

People are making a big deal out of it. It will probably be just fine. However I am curious. Will those still working there who're complaining finally leave, just like they promised to leave the country after Trump was elected?

Edit: it's been just a couple of days after the buyout and the trash is already taking itself out! Love it ❤️
Oster1 · M
@Oberon1 Many will come clean, to try to save their arses, from prison.

Let them, spill the beans and still lock them up!
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@Oster1 “Wise as serpents and harmless as doves” is our best strategy at this point.

It’s a step in the right direction. The western Marxist house of cards is coming down big time. The left is becoming trapped by their own lies and treachery.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire You are a master of hyperbole. Kind of defeats the conversation to have a fictional premise.
@Oberon1 I don't think you realize how many people on Twitter have been suspended for exactly that sort of thing. And I happen to know from personal experience that that's what happens when you get suspended. They give you a chance to remove the statement, or to appeal if you think it was legitimate. Don't believe me? Go tell somebody on Twitter to kill themselves, or something similarly inappropriate, and watch what happens.

Donald Trump got numerous warnings, I have no doubt. He kept posting the same BS over and over until they got sick of his shit. And now you people are claiming that that is somehow a violation of his free speech.
Whatever it doesn't concern me. I gotta say he's really smart though and knows what he's doing. I don't use Twitter but I'm sure him acquiring a portion of it is a good thing.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
don't really care one way or the other, I'm not one of those pathetic dweebs whose life revolves around social media... 🤷‍♂️
ron122 · 41-45, M
It's great. The left is freaking out and name calling already.
PatKirby · M
redredred · M
Very positive, it’s becoming clear that shadow banning is a real thing on Twitter. I think there should be a pretty wide open space for people. Verbal tough and tumble never hurt anyone.
RosaMarie · 41-45, F
I think that if Trump is allowed to get his account back, then there will be a mass Exodus.
PatKirby · M
@RosaMarie

If they leave en masse and create a competitor website, maybe they can call it Qwitter instead of Twitter.

Great He Dosent Believe in Political Correctness &,Silencing People on the internet
Entwistle · 56-60, M
If it requires proof of I'D,address, etc then i wont join it.
He has supported censorship in the past.
No reason to believe he wont in the future.
hdiddle · 26-30, M
@Entwistle No, they aren't denying them the right to say anything. Then can still use the platform freely. The only difference is that Elon won't see their posts, and it's his right not to if he doesn't want to.

Sometimes blocking someone is done because they're being annoying
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@hdiddle Its okay, you are allowed to be wrong.
hdiddle · 26-30, M
@Entwistle Everyone is allowed to be wrong! You, however, are misunderstanding the point of social media blocks if you think that they are the same as censorship in any way, shape or form.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
He’s not in control yet and already the trash is taking itself out.
Adstar · 56-60, M
Well i am not planning on joining twitter but i hope Musk's stated stance of being a firm supporter of free speech is real.. If so then it will be good, the users will have the freedom to discuss all topics and hold different POVs .. The woke leftist fascists have stomped upon the freedom of people online for way to long..
Victorian · 56-60, F
@OnePatheticClown Why does Alabamian methane smell so bad?
OnePatheticClown · 51-55, M
@Victorian its extraterrestrial origins might explain that.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I hope he removes the requirement for your telephone number, or I won’t be joining.
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@Carissimi Maybe he needs to call us to tell us we won a million dollars in a lottery we didn't apply for and he needs our bank account info and credit card pin to add it to our savings? You never know.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
He’s not in charge yet. If you heard the secret tape of the “all hands” Twitter meeting, by Project Veritas, you will hear the CEO say, it will be (and I’m paraphrasing) business as usual, until the deal closes, and that can be 6-12 months. @assemblingaknob
I have no problem with Musk buying Twitter. I think he overpaid for it, but, hey, it's his money.
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@independentone He could always send me some cash

Its a positive step, but dont be surprised if the current progressives who are occupying the conpany try something to sabatoge his plans.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
I have an account on Twitter and never use it, I’ve been meaning to close it and now will definitely. I’m totally uninterested in Elon Musk and dislike him, so Twitter will be even more toxic with the change.
@BackyardShaman What difference does his presence on it make anyway?
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
I dislike him and I already dislike the Twitter experience, so I find him toxic already, that’s enough of a change for me two toxins in one. I’m not speaking for or sponsoring your opinion or experience on Twitter so go for it if you like it and him.@PiecingBabyFaceTogether
hdiddle · 26-30, M
@BackyardShaman if you used it you'd know he's already been on twitter for years.

I doubt it's possible to make twitter more toxic than it already is
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
My only comment is to note the hysteria and consternation from certain left wing political groups regarding their future on the platform. Previously, when conservative pundits and contributors were kicked off the site, they clearly did not care, and in fact expressed glee and approval.

I find their hysteria satisfying.
GLITTER · 36-40, F
I don’t really use Twitter. It’s too pretentious and celeb sucking up for me. So I couldn’t care. But sounds like Twitter About to go downhill

@MrBrownstone This just proves, what I have been writing, for hours.

I saw this yesterday.

It's all Intelligence run.

It will never change.

So now what?

They can still control Twitter and all the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
I think it is a very good thing.
Let the free market of ideas flow. No one is required to have a twitter account or read any tweets they disagree with.

@Paperhearts He is entitled to make his own choices with his own money. I don't always agree with Elon Musk, but I do admire that he comes up with an idea and then uses his own money to develop it.
Paperhearts · 61-69, F
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@Paperhearts biden spends that in a day. why doesn’t he do it?
Oster1 · M
It's the same old Crony Capitalism.

Both Tesla and SpaceX, were financed by American tax payers.

Investors, reaped the profits. Do we even know if either company is profitable and self sustaining?

Musk is so tied into the Globalists. How will things be different?

As far as Crypto, Block Chain Tech, has been proven, a failure and just another, flashy tech trinket. Another scam.
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
A new cryptocurrency banking forum full of scams and ads for tesla
Budwick · 70-79, M
I''m fine with it.
I was pushed off Twitter a long time ago.
My opinions were not welcome.
If Musk can make it into what it was always supposed to be,
an open forum to share ideas,
that would be cool.

I think initially 'membership' will drop dramatically.
There are lots of non-human BOTS.

Worlds richest man spends money on a vanity project instead of solving world problems. That's about my summarisation of it.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@Ryannnnnn he's a champion of free speech and trying to restore it's rightful place in american society. i'd say that's more than a vanity project and besides, he isn't obligated to try to solve the world's problems.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@boudinMan he did say he would donate 6 billion to world hunger which never happened.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@Ryannnnnn really?
Elon Musk donated around $5.74 billion to charity in November, just weeks after tweeting that if the UN World Food Program showed him how $6 billion would solve world hunger, he would “sell Tesla stock right now and do it.”
I've never used twitter, so it will have no impact on my life. But it does seem like a politicly charged issue for some people.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
That's another 40 billion dollars. Back into circulation. I don't use Twitter.
Doesn't bother me at all, but I don't use it
iamelijah · 26-30, M
It doesn't affect my life.
To all you people who say a transfer of ownership of Twitter won't affect you, here's why you're wrong. Posts on Twitter have an impact on the opinions of millions of human beings. If we allow some of the racist aѕsholes to have a public platform like that after they've been banned for literally sharing the most vile, disgusting content they can think of, then maybe they'll find kindred spirits. Maybe all of a sudden, your town will start having Saturday night lynchings. Sound fun?

Yeah, it matters who owns Twitter, and what he does with it.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire You can’t resist that fiction can you?
redredred · M
@LordShadowfire Yeah because there was never racist talk in small towns before Twitter came along. Grow a pair, it’s a rough and tumble world. Slander, libel, perjury and obvious fighting words can be banned but people should be free to put forth ideas on health, politics, elections, demonstrations, climate and other contentious ideas without being banned because they didn’t measure up to woke crap.
hdiddle · 26-30, M
“To the privileged, equality looks like oppression”

Nuff said
Human1000 · 51-55, M
I think he’ll run it into the ground and wreck Tesla stock in the process.
@Human1000 Pretty safe prediction, since Tesla stock is already tanking. 😆

I guess folks don't think he'll be able to focus on Tesla while he's being overlord of Twitter.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@LordShadowfire If the banks need to liquidate Tesla stock as the loan collateral watch out. I wonder how much he is involved with Space X, too
