I agree. The commercials are so darn laud.... should be illegal.
I read your message about messaging you.... so I will say it here, "Thank you for the add"
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M

Hanginginthere · 31-35, M

Are the hearing aid people trying to cash-in on this? Like your significant other walks in the room all "turn that down what are you deaf?" and after many times of this decides you need a hearing aid.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@FloorGenAdm 😂 you sir are funny
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Hanginginthere I am not even sure that @FloorGenAdm is joking to be honest.
SW-User
yes. this is by design to gain your attention. i don't see commercials anymore but i guess that bs is still legal
Ontheroad · M
@SW-User No, the folks producing and paying for the production of the commercials got the tech outlawed.
SW-User
@Ontheroad surprised they didn't get the mute button taken off remotes 😅
Ontheroad · M
@SW-User Shhh, don't give them any ideas! 😁
ALWAYS amd forever they've done that. It's very irritating but we know why they do it.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@LadyGrace I’m grateful I no longer have cable
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
They even do it on over the air television

I myself never had paid TV services. I thought it was stupid to pay to watch and stare at a box.

Why pay to stare at a box when I can stare at a box for free
CestManan · 46-50, F
Not just that but the light is brighter. Like they have a white background.

For the sound though, sometimes it is loud to the point of distortion, like when you turn a radio up too loud.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@CestManan uhh yeah!
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Hanginginthere I do not know why I thought of this but do some car dealers still put a giant inflatable gorilla on their lots?
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@CestManan I don’t think so
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
They been doing that since the 1990s. Because they figure people leave the room when a commercials come on.

They think if they make them louder you'll still hear them and still buy their crap
CestManan · 46-50, F
@HumanEarth a while ago they were selling some cable box that let the viewer skip over commercials. I wonder if they still have that or how they were allowed to sell it to begin with.

We know advertisers do everything they can to force their ads on us. It gets to the point where it drains all the enjoyment out of whatever one is trying to watch or listen to.
perceptivei · 36-40, F
YESSS! I've ALWAYS pointed this out. I'd immediately have to lower the volume as soon as a commercial came on. They do that intentionally so that you can still hear if you walk away, I suppose.
Applepiedom · 56-60, M
@perceptivei exactly right
Youtube videos do that all the time.🗣️😖 A portion of the video is so low in volume you can't make it out, then it suddenly blows out your speakers and your eardrums.🤬🤬
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@UnderLockDown main reason why I stopped using earbuds
TexChik · F
That is done intentionally. They have legal limits to how loud they can run them, but since when did the media follow any laws?
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@TexChik fair enough still very annoying
TexChik · F
@Hanginginthere and they likely exceeded the legal decibel increase limit for commercials
They do that to stand out. Also, some commercials are intentionally irritating. Ever notice? It's so you remember them.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
helenS · 36-40, F
Yes of course because they must somehow succeed in waking you up... 😏
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@helenS hmmm hadnt considered this
Always. Its especially true with Hulu
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Desolate I had Hulu but didn’t like their selections for shows or movies
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Hanginginthere I have not had cable in years nor do I have hulu or one of the other umpteen stream services. I imagine it is just repetitive programming.

I was in a hotel last summer for a few days and they had "dish". I was flipping through the channels and a lot of them were completely devoted to BULLSH*T like that "my pillow".

I thought, Christ on a cracker, people pay MONEY for this crap? 🤨
SW-User
Yeah. I often huff & puff at those. So annoying lol
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@SW-User it be scaring me 😂
brian29715 · 46-50, M
OMG yes, so dang annoying.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@brian29715 damn right
TheDisciplinarian · 61-69, M
Sometimes ??
Try 90% of the time
Damm Annoying too
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
It’s intentional
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Muthafukajones sure is!
FurryFace · 61-69, M
yes and its irritating
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@FurryFace very!
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@BLP11520 I wonder why
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
@Hanginginthere I don’t know
Amylynne · 26-30, F
In the olden days of TV, they made that illegal. But the fines were easy. So it kept happening. Now that it is not on broadcast television they can do whatever they want.
Yep...it was really bad watching Thursday night football on Prime Video.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Or how the title screen on a DVD is louder then the movie itself.
pdockal · 56-60, M
So you can still hear ot when you go to the kitchen or the bathroom
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
It's always like that and I HATE it.
It’s true 🙄
I don't have commercials, but I routinely notice during most movies and series that i have to constantly keep my hand on the remote, which is annoying AF

I think the volume should be uniform throughout the entire viewing, it should be required by law, I don't care about anyone's precious artistic expression, I don't want to have to constantly adjust the volume, I wish the people who make these shows would be forced to endure the constant up and down volume for 24 hours straight for a month
SW-User
The second the ads come on I press mute
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@SW-User yeah me to
Lilnonames · F
All the time at night it's annoying
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Lilnonames 😂 sure is
