Your number one tip for battling depression

mine is to stay a busy. just curious what you guys think?

@Carazaa very beautiful words! But unfortunately it's hard in few situations. Like if someone has a drinking habit and had more struggles with work life. But only dogs love me after that. I feel depreciated with my age because my boss like younger girls and they have started being more rude towards me.

@littlepuppywantanewlife✨💛✨ I am so sorry about your work. You will be OK! One day at a time! Go there and just work, be sweet to everyone, and get paid. Start looking for a better job. If they don't like you, they have a problem being judgmental, don't you worry!

Suffering from chronic depression all my life I have learned to just life with it. Taking on one day at a time and appreciating the good parts of my life. I might not feel them but I know who and what they are.

Let it ride and embrace it. Trying to repress it, ignore it, pretend it isn't there (not the same as ignoring it), circumvent it, disguise it, dismiss it will only lead to it hitting back even harder. Ride out the storm.

Depends. Having depression or being depressed? They are two different things.
Stay busy
Do something out of your comfort zone.
Self reflection. I like to dig into my mind and try and understand the “why” behind (mine is trauma based) the purpose of my depressive period. Also, forcing myself to do what I’m anxious about. I once didn’t leave my house for 2 years. It doesn’t get better the more you avoid the fears.

jog or hit the punching bag, listen to music, watch a comedy film or tv episode for temporary relief.

walk through a nursing home and help people, being depressed at a young age should be put in perspective.

Sleep, cry, accept it.
Staying busy or distraction are delaying tactics it always catches back up to me.
Writing helps some.

@Justmeraeagain What are you doing about it? The key word here is "doing". Nobody can wave a magic wand and make your depression go away. But you can get help for it and work toward overcoming it.

For me its journaling for the most part,
I use journaling as a method for processing and understanding what's happening and also as a problem solver...
it seems to help most of the time

Depends on the severity in my opinion but I would say exercise and staying active

Or just keep self busy with hobbies or something

Different things work for different ppl. For me it's window shopping, roaming in the gardens, watching a horror or comedy film, eating pizza, spending time with my lovely cousin, my sister....She has a calming effect on me by just being there. She's a lovely person, that's why.

@Nitedoc that's your upbringing you are showing......you are no one to speak for others coz you don't have the courage to speak for yourself...simply put you are coward hiding behind others...
One more thing your words can't heal a person in depression, only close ones can help....
