I feel I am getting old.. wasting my life being sad..

I havent had some life changing experience.. i just slowly realize.. that i waste my life being sad.. idk even what happiness is.. could be.. just everyday troubles and struggles.. getting through the day…
How to be happy? Is it even possible..? Is there such thing as happiness..? Or life is meant to be a sad survival n suffering until the end.. :(

You didn’t ask for advice. I do know this has helped about half the time. Get involved with some physical activity that leaves you exhausted. Really exhausted nearly every day. Running, martial arts, weight training, whatever. There’s a mind/body loop that actually works. You generate adrenaline and other bio chemicals that will affect you positively.

Free advice guaranteed to be worth every penny.

When I was feeling low like that, I adopted two dogs. And they have made life interesting..

@DarkHeaven Looks like a little sheep 😍 What breed is he?
@Thevy29 She is a miniature goldendoodle. She’s 25% toy poodle, 25% golden retriever, and 50% miniature poodle. And 100% love.
Try one of Goenka's courses in Vipassana Meditation.
There are over 80 centres around the world;
there will probably be at least one in your country.
It's a free 10-day residential course.
The proviso is that one must not be taking any mind-affecting drugs.
At the end you give a donation according to your means.
I guarantee that if you practise consistently according to the instructions,
you will experience profound happiness and peace at least once before the end of the course.
The discovery will bring new awareness enabling you to gradually become happier in your daily life.

I think its truly in the ordinary, where happiness is. Like when I see a toddler light up in giggling laughter, I feel so light. When Im with a dog, I am so happy. When Im at the ocean, I feel whole. The only joy I wish I could have is love with a man/partner. 😟

Get volunteering in different areas and you'll get to discover more of yourself and whatelse for you to do.

There can be no happiness in loneliness and idleness.. we need to be occupied and find & do something new .. else life becomes mundane...

So get involved with people or activity.. get into squabbles / arguments and start engaging in life ..

The more you stay away by refraining yourself, the more boredom will hit you ..

The short answer is happiness is a choice. Something is keeping you choosing to linger on the past. Resolve what keeps you down, then leave it in the past. Happiness comes from the inside, not the outside. Choose happiness. This helped me with this dilemma long ago, hope it helps you too. Good luck.

If you suffer from chronic depression, that should be treatable. Talk to your doctor to see what your options are. Life isn't easy for most of us, but it doesn't have to be without joy.

We will have trials.
Survival is necessary.
Not everyone broods over those facts.
Our brains , unfortunately, are wired differently than this who are not depressed.
I find accepting that I will be sad helps, odd as that sounds.
I try not to feel guilty about it.
I find watching something funny or down right silly helpful as it's hard to feel sad while laughing.
Writing seems to help many people, perhaps a journal?
It won't cure depression, but it will help you organize your thoughts and perhaps identify triggers.

If you can't be happy now then will you be?
Happiness can be a choice. It's also relative.
I’m sorry you feel like this. I relate.

That in itself is progress...

You could try doing drugs.
