They're about 600 grand

LilPrincess · 41-45, F
We don't have many million dollar homes in my area. Maybe 1 or 2.
Guardian · 56-60, M
@beermeplease LOL! Central, Big city. You?
Guardian · 56-60, M
@LilPrincess If you have money there are many places here, but I'll never be able to afford one here!
@Guardian west coast...third largest city...mountains, ocean, plenty of junkies
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
22 homes

3 farms

1 Governor mansion
HumanEarth · 56-60, M

HumanEarth · 56-60, M
Only if I get away with not saying uno
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Here the average is $200-$300+ thousand for a walk-in ready house, and if you bought a fixer upper you could buy even more the average for that is about $90 to $180 thousand.
If you want a house that's totally gutted, collapsed, or barley standing and unusable you could probably get one for 35- 50 thousand
If you're talking a high end house probably one or two.
With the constant uptick in prices of homes and property here. I'm afraid even millionaires are walking away with broken hearts and wallets
robb65 · 56-60, M
Somewhere between one and ten. Recently someone I know sold a house in town and I had heard the asking price was somewhere between $500,000 and $700,000. It was really nice, 2 stories with a basement, large lot with a tennis court in the back yard. I would expect reasonably large but not quiet as nice to go for $300,000-$350,000, while a few years ago I was aware of an older, smaller, not so nice house in town listed for around $80,000.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Quite a few, not much of a house though.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Not even one in some areas close to me!
Julien · 36-40, M
Two 90 sqm apartments
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
A related q - who realistically can just lay they're hands on 1 million in 'cash' like it's of no consequence or trouble ? Irrelevant if it's usd or AUD since it's all relative based on the economy of each country.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
One and a half
Musicman · 61-69, M
That depends. We have a few streets where $1 million would just be a deposit. Other areas it would get you three homes in a bad neighborhood. Two in a decent neighborhood.

One. Located in Kingston, Massachusetts. Has a view of Kingston Bay. It's being sold as is, and is a fixer upper...🤣
@4meAndyou it's usually the land that's valuable....one might as well tear it down and build new
4meAndyou · F
@beermeplease It's on .68 acres. The view is what is valuable.

I just looked at the photos. Knotty pine kitchen from the 1950's, and tear outs done upstairs.
@4meAndyou i looked up some photos...looks nice...lol i can never spell massachusetts (had to copy your text) 🤣
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
At at guess, several hundred. Average "home value" that I can find online is listed at a bit over $500,000 for my town.
In my immediate area, probably 50. But there are some places in this town where you couldn’t buy the pool for $1 million.
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Just 1 out here as well. Only 18 years ago they were under $200K
@Jeephikelove that's a shame they became so expensive out in the valley... it's a blight on our society. there's no way a home should cost almost as much where your at as where i'm at...but we shall conquer through

Depends. Waterfront? Less than half. Away from waterfront where I am? Maybe 1.5?

In Sydney (where I'm not) median house price is well over $1 million in Aussie dollars. Where I am it's probably 0.75 million at present.

A recent report showed that in some high growth areas of Australia about 1 in 4 purchases are made without needing a mortgage. If you need a mortgage you're automatically disadvantaged
pride49 · 31-35, M
For that kind of money you could build a mansion out here on the country
RenFur · 70-79, M
I live between a steel factory and a railway track so... guess. 😂
@RenFur could probably buy the whole town
2. That much would have bought 5 in my neighborhood back in the ‘90s.
Depending on the age and size, 2 or 3.
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
woah. how big are we talking?
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
2 if you're lucky
Ontheroad · M
There are a number of nice 3-bedroom homes around me for $350k, homes that 3 years ago went for $250k, but since the housing market went nuts, the prices have gone up.

Out in the suburbs, decent 4-bedroom homes can be had for $300k.
Guardian · 56-60, M
Sad, but sooo true!
One and a half. 😂
@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy does the half only have an outhouse? 🤣
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Two, maybe.
@Jenny1234 doesn't surprise me
none in our neighborhood but can get a bargain in the city
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
🤣🤣🤣 at the beach, you can't even get a 2 bedroom condo
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Several. I'm not going to do the math though.
meggie · F
Less than 1 where I live in boyfriends house
LifeIsShort · 31-35, M
May be 2 or 3.
Azlotto · M
Dozens if it has acreage.
After conversion, I could buy my own house
Realtor.com says there are about 35 homes over $1M in my city, including 3-4 that are over $5M. 13 are listed between $900K and $999K.
Lilnonames · F
Probably at least ten
@Lilnonames awesome ... and me and @NativePortlander1970 will come over and bring you a housewarming gift... but i get the spare bedroom and native can sleep on the couch 😋....🤣
Lilnonames · F
