What part of getting older did noone warn you about?

That moment when you notice a gray nose hair...
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
My spirit and mind isn't on the same page as my physical abilities anymore...lol! Oh shootfire... but I'm learning my limitations these days.
The old gray mare ..just ain't what she use to be! ❤✌

@samueltyler2 with it...huh ..thanks...trying to grow old gracefully....still this aging process is to be taken seriously...lol... I'm accepting, adjusting and adapting ...hey...I question myself ..out loud too..what the heck was I about to do..go after? 😊
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@ShadowWorker yes, aging is not for the meek. I try to keep my weight under control, exercise every morning. I am told i still have a pretty good body😈.

@samueltyler2 awesome..😎
The importance of secrecy is something I just had an epiphany about recently.

If a company or the government tells you to not talk about something outside of work, dont talk about it outside of work.

You might think that in a job interview you can use some old crap you made from before and nobody will find out and that is true when you are EARLY in your career.

But as you grow older and continue to work with non disclosure agreements of secret clearance type stuff, the amount of little tid bits of information you may have let go here or there MAY come back to get you just because over the course of a 20 to 30 year career stuff you designed or made will prompt people to ask WHO made it and eventually the finger will come to you. Not only that, your connections will be questioned if there is ever an investigation of a leak and then the finger will also come to you. The worst case scenario of all that could happen is that a country like Iran or China gets a hold of your shit and then you just go to prison.

Even if you think it is just a tiny detail, dont let 20 to 30 years of tiny details here and there all over the country or world eventually point back to you.

I dont want to elaborate on why I know this. Lets just say I have great intuitive foresight on things that can happen.

The pain of losing loved ones, be it to death or dementia/alzheimer
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
@originnone even if she can't tell you she's grateful for your help, she can still feel gratitude in her soul.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this 🫂
originnone · 61-69, M
@BarbossasHusband thanks....I just don't see it.
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
@originnone Doesn't matter how much the person forgets, they still remember the love they feel for you, both before and after the disease took it's toll.

Caring for elderly parents. It hits us out of the blue just as we are retiring or trying to save for retirement. I don't remember anyone warning my generation about this. I was stuck with caring for both parents alone.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Losing your brainpower. I blank out on words and numbers and names sooooo much easier than I did when young. ☹

That your life isn't a plan that just works out. Everything changes: people, legislation, inflation, social dynamics, society. It never really gets 'easy' at any point .

That people younger than you get extremely rude, and act as if you're irrelevant
