What part of getting older did noone warn you about?

That moment when you notice a gray nose hair...

The importance of secrecy is something I just had an epiphany about recently.

If a company or the government tells you to not talk about something outside of work, dont talk about it outside of work.

You might think that in a job interview you can use some old crap you made from before and nobody will find out and that is true when you are EARLY in your career.

But as you grow older and continue to work with non disclosure agreements of secret clearance type stuff, the amount of little tid bits of information you may have let go here or there MAY come back to get you just because over the course of a 20 to 30 year career stuff you designed or made will prompt people to ask WHO made it and eventually the finger will come to you. Not only that, your connections will be questioned if there is ever an investigation of a leak and then the finger will also come to you. The worst case scenario of all that could happen is that a country like Iran or China gets a hold of your shit and then you just go to prison.

Even if you think it is just a tiny detail, dont let 20 to 30 years of tiny details here and there all over the country or world eventually point back to you.

I dont want to elaborate on why I know this. Lets just say I have great intuitive foresight on things that can happen.
