If I count all the homes we have had when we were children and the places I have lived in as a student, effectively home because I have spent an amount of time there, my number includes four countries and twelve homes!
4 in my lifetime. When i was 4, the family moved house. Our house ( a rented council house) was being updated. The tiny bathroom was down stairs and we had an outside loo! The bathrooms were being removed to extend the kitchen and a bedroom upstairs was being made into a bathroom.....but we needed 3 bedrooms do the council moved us just 10 minutes away, to bigger house and garden where i lived until i left home at 22. My parents later bought the house. My sister still lives there. When i married, we bought a little but spacious terrace house in my husbands home town.....5 miles away from where i grew up. We lived there for 17 years then moved to our current home. Been here 18 years now.
I've counted 9 homes. I've moved and lived in more than 50 perhaps places. I've been moving and moving, including temporary stays, boyfriend places, campings, travelling etc But I tried to count the places I remembered as "homes" which is different than the places I've stayed...

I've lived in five different places. My parents' house (which was renovated when I was in high school, but otherwise hasn't changed since I was brought home from the hospital as an infant), college dorm, off-campus apartment, apartment in Paris while studying abroad, house I'm currently living in with roommate.
One town and one country with 3 homes. Although while one of them remained my main home for a short while I had a second home in another continent, country, town etc. for work.
I've lived in a lot of places but only 2 I would call home. The house I grew up in for 18 years, which was a miserable home. And this apartment where I have lived 16 years which was the nicest home I've ever had until 2 years ago when the building was sold to some greedy slimy slum landlord.
