I love reading peoples usernames

I haven't been on here for a while, it's nice to see old friends but it's also fun scrolling through all the usernames I haven't seen before.

If you want maybe share how you chose/created your username - I'm curious 😊
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
JR Vanguard was meant to be a stage name cause I played guitar growing up
I wanted to keep my actual initials of JRV but without giving away my last name
In a very 6 degrees is separation way my last name does mean guard but it’s not something anyone could ever piece together
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@JRVanguard That would have made a kick-ass stage name.

Ontheroad · M
I'm most at peace when "on the road", as in when I'm on a road trip to nowhere in particular.
Ontheroad · M
@GypsyMiss I thought it spoke of a wandering soul. I'm sorry it was born of pain.
GypsyMiss · 41-45, F
@Ontheroad that's life!
Ontheroad · M
@GypsyMiss Right? I followed in your footsteps not long after you did.
Keeper · M
I've "kept" mine
I was just struggling in making one. 😐
GypsyMiss · 41-45, F
@GypsyMiss
I remember you too.
GypsyMiss · 41-45, F
@mindstruggle Awwww! Nice!
FreakLikeMe · 56-60, M
This is an awesome post in that it engages the user so well.
FreakLikeMe is the name of a song by a hard rock band named Halestorm. One of the lines in the song goes, "So write your name in gasoline, and set that shit on fire!"
It's like giving the finger to anyone who criticizes you because you dare to be different. I totally understand being different. That's why I took it for my screen name.
GypsyMiss · 41-45, F
@FreakLikeMe thanks 👍🏼 I gotta look that song up now! Sounds like my kind of sentiment.

Most new user names are just alts of the names you know. Its a cesspool of profile inbreeding.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@soulshadow
Are you speaking from experience or are you just speculating that you know what you're talking about?
Morvoren · F
Mine is the Cornish word for mermaid. Dad called me it when he taught me how to swim.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
I am The Human Of Earth

HumanEarth

Had this screen name since 2015 on a few websites.

My profile photo, well I been using that photo under many screen names going all the way back to Microsoft Windows 98

From America On-online to Yahoo Chat and to now. It's one of my favorite photographs

Mine came to me after a big storm and alot of the boats tied to the docks in the marina broke loose and went adrift.
Some of them were recovered and others were forgotten and were just kind of left to drift and run aground in random places.
At the time I was feeling a bit alone and directionless myself.
supersnipe · 61-69, M
I nearly bought a Humber Super Snipe in my EP days - didn't in the end (big old cars have their own sets of problems) but the name kind of stuck!
OldBrit · 61-69, M
After killing my old account off I needed new name and I'm old and a Brit. 🤷🏼‍♂️
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@OldBrit Did I know your old account?
OldBrit · 61-69, M

TrashCat · M
I fell into mine when i began caring for vastly underrated critters who get a horribe rep and deserve to be loved and respected
Repete · 61-69, M
Mine has been my nickname for as long as I can remember because I’m a Jr., same name as my dad 😂 I think maybe I’ll change it to echo 😂
Nanoose · 61-69, M
I picked my username for a couple of reasons. Nanoose was a word that was used by the aboriginals in the Nanoose Bay area a couple of hundred years ago – it meant “friendly”. So I thought it would make a good username. I also picked my username because it was my nickname at the Rod and Gun tavern in Parksville. At that time I lived in Nanoose Bay - my real name was a very common one so to avoid confusion they called me Nanoose. Cheers!
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
People tell me their names on here all the time. I'm like I'll remember your profile name.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M

basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@SW-User I've actually never tried chips in an air fryer. Is it similar to oven bake chips?
Monalisaa1986 · 36-40, F
It’s my first name and my last name
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
It's from my favourite comedy sitcom Fawlty Towers. Basil Fawlty was the lead character played by John Cleese.
GypsyMiss · 41-45, F
@basilfawlty89 oh yeah, I remember that show! Nice one 👍🏻

"You started it."
"No, we didn't!"
"Yes, you did, you invaded Poland!"

When I was first starting out in Wicca (I have since graduated to a somewhat more mature eclectic pagan practice), I wanted to shout it to the heavens. So of course the word magick had to be part of my name. And because I like wearing black clothes, I thought it would be amusing to reference that. And thus was born my original username, DarkMagickan. (Note the spelling, popularized by Aleister Crowley.)

I thought that username was so cool that I used it on my PlayStation Network account, which of course means it was my username on PS Home, Sony's attempt at creating a social MMO network. And that was where I discovered two things. One, there was a Yu-Gi-Oh! card called Dark Magician, and two, people can't spell. Everybody assumed my name was a Yu-Gi-Oh! reference, which to a creative type is basically saying, "You are an unoriginal hack with no creativity whatsoever."

And so, when I discovered Ask Yahoo!, which later became Yahoo! Answers, I wanted a name that still kind of captured the essence of DarkMagickan, but that wouldn't cause Yu-Gi-Oh! geeks to run up and yell random things like "Blue Eyes White Dragon!" Shadow can be considered a synonym for darkness, and fire is basically raw energy in its wildest form.

The prefix Lord came later, because I just thought it fit.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@LordShadowfire
Oh really? I always thought it was because you were a professional computer hacker? Call me naive, but all this time I thought you were hacking websites and selling personal data to foreign entities. Why did I have that impression, I wonder? Must have been the hoodie thing... or maybe how you lurk in the shadowy darkness!
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@swirlie I can see that. If I Google "hacker poster", I get a lot of pictures similar to my pfp.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@LordShadowfire
Oh good then! It makes me relaxed to learn that you are just raw energy in it's wildest form! I can relate to that 'raw energy' concept!
swirlie · 31-35, F
My username is a nickname my university women's gymnastics team gave me when we were all about 18 years old and freshly graduated from high school. I'll give you just two guesses as to why they gave me that nickname...
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@swirlie a mean prank involving heads and toilets?
swirlie · 31-35, F
@basilfawlty89
...ah, no..

If a Sea Witch lives in a wooden barrel that floats on the sea... then a SandWitch is a Witch that lives where ...?
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@SandWitch In a wooden barrel on the beach?
swirlie · 31-35, F
@SandWitch

A SandWitch is a Witch that lives her life anywhere in the world that a sandy beach can be found? 🏖️
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@swirlie
You got it! You win the prize swirlie! You are so smart! You must be an American!

Here you go swirlie, an all expense-paid riverboat cruise for one!

Are you trying to impress me, or are you trying to impress yourself here?

I ask because you look like a narcissistic guy who has a fatal attraction to himself.

@Montanaman I don't know. You seem to be going out of your way to make her feel pathetic and worthless. That's kind of a narcissistic tactic.
