14 or so - I was still immature, of course, but I was functioning as an adult in that I was dealing with adult problems by myself.

Yourguyinthecity · 51-55, M
16, when my mom died.
Honestly, 29, not to say I didn't have maturity by then... but I learned something new when my father died.
calicuz · 51-55, M
Honestly, it was around 38 that I started to think more like an adult.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Still not there 😬
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
9, when my big sister left boarding school and I had to take sole moral responsibility for our 'terrible twin' sisters 🤦‍♀️
SW-User
Apart from the legal definition, around 27
popmol · 22-25, M
@SW-User you seemed so adult before that though big sis!
SW-User
Haha that's bc you’re younger 😋🤗
But I can feel the difference between now & then @popmol
popmol · 22-25, M
@SW-User well you know me for years now when i was super small so to me you were always an adult 🤣
so you become even better! thats amazing! ☺️🤗
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
I don't feel like an adult, but when I had my son I knew life just got real.
Blondily · F
@AlchemyFox I felt the same way when my daughter was born
Mcmarie90 · 31-35, F
Honestly, I'm 33 and still don't feel like one. I can't do half the things my mom does that it seems w mature responsible adult does (balance checkbook, taxes, budgeting, mortgage, responsible meal planning, regular doctors and dentist appointments, talking on the phone, etc)
3 - when I was flung into a world where I had full responsibility for my medical health.

Yeah... Don't do that - it can be difficult for a child to make teachers listen when they announce their medical needs.
elafina · 36-40, F
I don't know, it's more of a procedure rather than a singular moment. I'm still growing, due to circumstances I'm a late bloomer in many things, as if I restarted it all over after 28.
TexChik · F
After Surviving savage beatings and tortures during my childhood, when I was 11 I knew how to take care of myself and was mature beyond my years.
BOREDAFPA · 41-45, M
I was pretty much alone constantly apart from school starting at 12 but dontthink I mentally matured until 16. Ill say 16
In some ways when I was about 8 probably, in other ways I'm still not.
Ontheroad · M
Still working on the whole adult thing... it's really not a lot of fun.
Rokasu · 36-40, M
Probably when I die.
@Rokasu
Don’t say that.

I was about 26.
Nine. My parents were very angry. I was put on a diet to stop my periods. My father was a famous scientist and I was nothing.
The diet worked. I was the only girl who did not know you could cheat on a diet.
Dusty101 · F
Probably at 27 when I inherited a house and had to start doing serious adult stuff overnight! 😭
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
At 18 when my mom thrown me out and I had no place to go.

So I dated a girl for a place to stay
JustNik · 51-55, F
I think I’m just always going to feel like an imposter in that regard.

In my 30s about 35 I reckon.
