They're marginally better than talking robots.
@NudasPriest robots?
@Royricky09 Yes. The one that asked this question for you.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@NudasPriest This one is not a AI. Likely blocks are the reason you don't know, one way or the other.

Take close look at the first line in the post. If there's a blank "By", it's definitely a user like above.

Those questions are submitted.

Fertilization · 36-40, F
Sometimes I don’t read the posts completely but I would react with a heart after reading the title of the story.

People keep so many things in their heart. And this place is right to vent out.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
It really depends, if someone is a good writer; I can read it all.

But in some instances if there are lots of spelling mistakes and/or poor grammar, it can become a bit of an obstacle course to get through.

I try to make time for my friends here, especially because I tend to be the person creating longer posts.

If they have lots of complex sentences, vocabulary which taxes me, such as technical or political jargon, lots of sub clauses within the sentence, a circumlocutionary style which doesn't get to the point swiftly or beats about the bush with lots of obfuscation and irrelevant side issues (I was always taught to avoid those when I was at school, which obviously was a long time ago now, but in those days we were educated in getting to the point and summarising what you wanted to say swiftly) then it's likely, if not certain, that I will not read past the first couple of lines. In fact, this reply is exactly the kind of thing I wouldn't countenance.
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
I feel that everyone deserves to have a voice, no matter how good, bad, weird or long winded. I know that a lot of people on here are hurting and frustrated so it just comes with the territory.
TheYawnArchive · 46-50, M
Most of the time i don't read on, but the few times i had, i was drawn in, and felt for them, maybe there's more i could feel for such.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
When written right, great.

When it's one long sentence without breaks, I rarely read more than a few words.

Yeah, I'm a bit notorious for very long posts. I do have one of the few longest posts possible on this site
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@DeWayfarer But you write sense.
I tend to avoid them unless I know the person. But that doesn’t mean folks shouldn’t write them if they need to
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
As unaccustomed as I am to writing I feel it behooves me to respond in kind to your post sir . I must state for the record that although I am extremely liberal with my words that I will be as efficient as possible 😂😂😂
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
People should write as long posts as they need to to express whatever they want to express.
You didn't have to read them Ricky.
BamPow · 51-55, M
It’s the prerogative of the person posting to say as much or as little as they want. It’s also my perogative to decide if I want to read it. There are times I’ll open a post and just go “nope…too many words”.
faery · F
Sometimes I'm in the mood to do a bit of reading when the subject matter interests me, sometimes not.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Some subjects are just hard to explain. 🤷‍♂
Tumbleweed · F
Sometimes it's very annoying, especially when it's some sort of nonsense about random crap but then there are those who are serious and have a hard time expressing themselves in just a few words so I understand.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Unless it's a well-written story, I am afraid I scroll right by it.
But people have a right to post whatever they wish.
4meAndyou · F
There are SOME well intentioned ones that drive me insane. I read a sentence or two...but it is like 20 densely packed paragraphs filled with blather blather blather and on and on and on...so if it's a friend of mine, I just respond with a smile emoji at the very end. I DON'T read it...because most of it is twaddle and pure crapola.
exexec · 70-79, C
Unless the subject interests me or is written by a friend, I don't read the really long posts.
I usually don't get through it all and click off after a while.
smiler2012 · 61-69
[@sw question ] yes i want to play a word game where you quote random words as an answer. it has gone on for a while now and i personally think it should finish as i find it irritating and repetative
smiler2012 · 61-69
[@mrsswan] this question has gone on for so long now it has become boring
ToLivePeacefully · 31-35, M
I give up reading like 99 percentage of the time.

I think Life's pointless but not pointless enough to waste it on such a post.
I usually pass them by
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Depends on the subject matter, but the very definition of "long-winded" indicates something over-written and too long to be really interesting usually.
I don't even bother answering those
Adstar · 56-60, M
The lenth is not as important as the content... If the content is good then it can be longer...
oogirl · 13-15, F
Some are interesting but some are just way too much to read
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
See cat. Cat run.
SUPERVlXEN · F
You should keep scrolling if your attention span isn’t built for them.
YoMomma ·
Sometimes i read them, sometimes i don't.. depends on the tone if they are serious or bs 😏
