Has anyone made a good friend on SW?

I sure did, we have known each other over ten years, have been together now for three years next month and are engaged to be married in May.

I would certainly like to think that a few good friends have been made here.

There are possibilities here.

Have made a surprisingly large number of them over the years. But like a lot of things, their presence can be temporary, which is why my effort to maintain a lot of them just isn’t what it is used to be. Still have a few who shine brighter than the sun despite the distance though.

I ceased to seek out friendship awhile ago online, as i really don't know how to maintain it, better rather imo to see all as friends as a default.

I find friendships on here fleeting ..

I've made friendships then it slowly diminishes ..... I don't invest as much as I used to on here

I have a few that I would be happy to meet in person after years of talking to each other every day on here...

Personal friendships require a mutually understood level of confidentiality and trust.

The contractual agreements on social sites erased that when they confounded shared communication as shared data.

It's not really possible when an unknown *invisible to either / any "friends* has full access to any communication that originates on a site.

Check with a lawyer if you think I'm wrong.

Yes, I have made a few good friends, and one going back at least 13 years

I have, before.
But we all drifted apart, and I lost touch with all except one. We speak out of SW on important days, like birthdays and stuff so it doesn't have the closeness it once had.

I've not met someone I connect with at that level since.

Yes a few. Lost some along the way too. You never know when you're going to meet someone either, even long time site members that somehow manage to not connect for years.
