I know many comedians liberal, independent and conservative. Very few would I classify as good. Most good comedians hate the politics of both sides. George Carlin being the obvious standout in this regard.
@Longpatrol I agree good comics like Carlin transcended politics. I find Ricky Gervais a bit like that arguably with his political incorrectness about gender politics (if you can even assign a stance to that)
@Longpatrol Eh, Carlin was pretty damn political and he never had one good thing to say about conservatives. I think you might need to listen to him more.
No, but I can name some bad right-wing comedians. Dennis Miller & Joe Piscopo come to mind. Then there's Roseanne Barr. Anybody remember Andrew Dice Clay? He self destructed somewhere in the early 90s.
@bijouxbroussard except for Trevor Noah those are mostly old comedian actors not stand up Comedians. Tim Allen, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Burr, Jim Gaffigan, Brian Reagon, Tom Segura... But you're right now that I think of it there are a lot of liberal comedians, but I think those are more the Californian/Newyork type
@Lostpoet Tim Allen, Jeff Foxworthy, Brian Regan and Jim Gaffigan were all stand up comics first. But speaking of playing against stereotypes, Trae Crowder’s a liberal—from Tennessee. [media=https://youtu.be/Su1eIhMrtBw]
How about Bryan Regan? Hes funny, been watching him since he was an amateur back in the day. Hes clean too. He's on the show Loudermilk where he is NOT clean and its funny to see
@Lostpoet Most ? Not at all. I wouldn’t enjoy them if they were. Not Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah, Stephen Colbert (though he once played a conservative on tv).
Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Dennis Miller are the only ones I remember being actually funny at one point. All the comedians I really like are centrist at least, or liberal, for obvious reasons. Most of the artists I like best fall into that category.
