It’s silly helmet with the plastic ties season..

Convivial · 26-30, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout same thing lol
calicuz · 56-60, M
Are they protecting their nests....... or just plain mean?
Convivial · 26-30, F
@calicuz it's breeding season so they're in protection mode
@calicuz they making nests.. and they like hair 🤓
pride49 · 31-35, M
Reminds me of Bluey
pride49 · 31-35, M
@pride49 You know that episode when Bandit and bluey get faces painted on their back to keep them from swooping?

I never saw a magpie up close and personal like, until we visited Calgary this year, and they are beautiful...but fairly aggressive birds, and the locals dont seem to be as intrigued by them as we were 😂
Convivial · 26-30, F
@SW-User that have a beautiful song early in the morning... Rather magical i think
SW-User
@Convivial i will have to check that out
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
The house on the corner has had 12+ Magpies hanging around. They're nesting in the tree in the backyard 😟
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Thevy29 And they wont bother the home owners. They belong there. Its passers by they will swoop.. The little sods are quite intelligent.😷
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
Problem solved:

MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman Unfortunately they're both endangered.
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
@whowasthatmaskedman I might have gone with lawyers instead of children, but probably just because Dick Cheney has been back in the news recently 😂
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Zaphod42 While I see where you ar coming from here, I am one of those who believes that lawyers will make good mulch someday. There might be a few trying to do good out there. (Its theoretically possible) But the system they serve is the law, not justice. So they wont be missed..😷

Great picture! Feed them and make friends so at least your ok in your back yard.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
We feed the local family. (Have done for years.) Our place is swoop proof.. The young thrive on cheap minced beef and the parents bring them along as soon as they can fly.😷
Convivial · 26-30, F
@whowasthatmaskedman i was just reading an article which said the same things.. You can befriend them.. Great that you have, enjoy their song
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Convivial My wife goes out and talks to them. I am guessing its close to egg laying time so we will only see one and a time for a while.. Then they will start making return trips every couple of minutes with full beaks and come back empty..😷
Convivial · 26-30, F
@whowasthatmaskedman great that you have that relationship with them
Ferric67 · M
I heard magpies sing to you
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Ferric67 Its more like a yodel. But the ones we feed have a few calls to call their family members or each bird has theor own tune phrase to identify it . We get that once they have eaten. 😷
I fear for my life. Daily
😆 I'd have treats on me and make friends.
Bang5luts · M
We have magpies here as well. Kind of crafty mean birds
GunFinger · F
Damn those magpies.🤣
Convivial · 26-30, F
@GunFinger noooo, i love them... Beautiful songs 🤗
