Do you think society will evolve to a Vegan lifestyle? [I am Vegan]

I think it would be great if we did.
twiigss · M
Too much of one thing, is bad for you apparently. Like drinks. I love to drink soda. But, when you start having weird surging pain where your kidney is on your left side, you panic, and begin to drink lots, and lots of water.

Same with carrots, eat too many your skin can turn orangish or something I've read. Too many beets, too much zinc, too much iron, too much vitamin C, too much meat, too much milk, too much coffee, too much sugar, etc. etc. etc.

Supposedly however, we can't get enough water, and a majority of the population in the US is dehydrated. But I do think that to get rid of meat entirely, and only eat vegetables, it's too much. Our bodies need that variety. There are people who don't smoke, don't eat meat, don't drink who've died in their 30's, perfectly healthy.

I'm no doctor, so I will only give my personal opinion, which is, I think we all as human beings, need to eat an even balance of food, and not too much of one thing.

I believe there are properties in meat and in vegetables that help our bodies. And when you remove one of those things, our bodies go wacky on us.

@cherokeepatti Yea, that can't be good.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@twiigss there should be some warning on products but there aren’t....many people do a little research but I didn’t know about these products increasing estrogen levels until a few years ago after I dropped a bottle of tea tree oil and cleaned it up with a paper towel and my bare hands and then started having hot flashes and night sweats. I had to stop drinking soy milk, using lavender oil and using tea tree oil. I did use some tea tree facial wash I had a couple years later and started having the same symptoms again.

"bath soap and oil extracts because they can develop breasts before they become a teenager."

Like Richard Speck. Worked out for him
nedkelly · 61-69, M
NEVER, I do not tell VEGANS how to eat, and they should stick to their lifestyle, and mind there business

100,000 of thousands of jobs would be lost

"The future of the world is vegetarian".

BlueVeins · 22-25
Veganism as a movement will grow, but I don't think society will reject meat altogether, unfortunately; industry, culture, and sensory pleasure are all very influential forces in society and they're all set against veganism at the moment. It would also require the eradication of poverty as we currently understand it, which doesn't seem likely in the near future.

That said, lab-grown meats will eventually make the idea of veganism at least mostly redundant and animal suffering will be greatly diminished.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I can’t see it, maybe more vegetarian meals which wouldn’t hurt. But I can’t see society going totally meat free without a good reason.

@Stereoguy Exactly.

@Stereoguy
Fox News issued a correction on Monday over segments about nonexistent red-meat quotas.
The segments were part of a broader conservative media trend on Biden taking away Americans’ burgers.
The president does not, in fact, have a climate plan that involves capping red-meat consumption.

Really doubt it, poorer nations cant. Veganism isnt cheap, all those fabricated substitutes are costly and not available everywhere.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Women can get too much estrogen and too much can also cause night sweats and hot flashes and other problems, not healthy at all.
Slade · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti like men in this country need more soy? Not enough soy boys🤢
Slade · 56-60, M
@Slade Speaking of such boys...

Rutterman · 46-50, M
Probably not...because animals are so damn tasty.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
No. We humans are designed to eat both meat and vegetables. Trying to force veganism is just as bad as forcing people to eat nothing but meat.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti Exactly. A lot of people have no idea how needed large hooved herbivores are to our environment and if stopped eating them they would die out as we destroy their natural range trying to grow vegetables that a) won't grow there or b) we can't eat because our digestive tracts can't break the vegetation down. Cows, sheep, goats etc can turn otherwise inedible plants into human food as we can digest their meat.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 There is a b vitamin that we need for health that only meat can supply to us.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I think it is one that helps with our mental health because to be honest I have yet to meet a sane vegetarian. They are all on the crazy end of the stick.
iMystery · M
Maybe if only all Vegans moved to Mars one day on one of SpaceX's shuttles 🙄
bugeye · 26-30, F
never gonna happen. because Tea, Cakes and Bacon exist.
FurryFace · 61-69, M

curiosi · 61-69, F

I was born in 87. As I remember the toys were really cool. There were dinosaur toys with with mini action figures and my personal favorite were the pop bottle guns. I was terrified of beauty and the beast, the first movie I ever saw in theaters to my memory.

Regarding the contest - if distance and volume are criteria, I'm gonna need you there LeeAnne. As a performance coach👍

@Eyeamhere That would have to be someone with a narrower stream to be that precise. I'm more like a fully auto gun - overwhelm with volume and power!👍
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
I think we human beings should be allowed to make that decision for ourselves, individually.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
It might work in the 1960's but that's all in the past.
Bri89 · 31-35, M
If hamburger prices continue to go up people might slowly find alternatives. Fast food places are already pushing plant-based meat. It might take a decade or more, but it will become the norm.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Bri89 fast food places are trying to get business from vegans and vegetarians.
Piper · 61-69, F
Perhaps, when breeding billions of animals for human consumption becomes even more problematic concerning land use, waste and the damage that entails to the one earth we have.

Lifestyle? We buy food from the corporatocracy who hide the supply chain from us.
Unless we put democracy into the economy with laws, it's all up to Tyson.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Free samples and full slice portions for everyone if you are serious
SW-User
Perhaps . If they eliminated dairy ( except cheese) it would be nice.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User yeah you could still have vegetarian pizzas and some of those are mighty tasty.
AngelKrish · 26-30, M
I am already in vegetarian life from decades! I love it 👍
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Not if the Soylent Corporation has anything to say about it..
spjennifer · 56-60, T
Not as long as meat is still available! And because Bacon!
Very unlikely. There aren't any purely vegan cultures in the world.
MrAboo · 36-40, M
I would never eat vegan. Fuck that shit.
No, we need pro-team not all veggies
uncleshawn · 41-45, M
Vegan fruit tastes terrible.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
When in Vega, do as the Vegans do..

No. Meat, eggs, dairy, fish, poultry, etc. have been a part of the cuisine in too many cultures and people would be unlikely to give it up.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
I'm vegetarian, but I personally think the future will be lab grown meat. It's more sustainable, better for the environment and still tastes the same.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
No not vegan. Maybe less meat but definitely not vegan
Azlotto · M
Not in any of our lifetimes.

"Evolve"... 🤣😂
SW-User
I do not. I have no wish for it either. If it does, it'll be after my time anyway.
