How do I shake the feeling of eating sea insects when I eat prawns and other shellfish?

By being a bit more zoologically accurate and considering that prawns are not shellfish but closer to woodlice, and shellfish are closer to snails......?

I won't touch any of those things for exactly that reason! They are sea bugs, and that's disgusting to me. After all, what do they eat? The garbage in the sea!

If you understand the relationships of the various animals you will probably not eat them.
They are not remotely "fish" despite the term "shellfish".
Prawns and crabs are Crustaceans-you know what else are crustaceans?Woodlice.So youre eating woodlice basically.
Things like mussles,cockles,then the Cephalopods octopus,squid etc are Molluscs.What else are Molluscs-Slugs and snails....Ewwwwwwww.

Maybe just telling yourself that they're crustaceans and not insects, which is true, will help. Or maybe telling yourself that a lot of insects are just different forms of protein. Something that about 2 billion people eat daily.

Could be worse could be thinking of them as fishy compost bins as they eat all the shit off the bottom of the ocean.

Yes, I totally get you on that. Every so often that thought gets into my head when I’m eating those things and it ruins it for me.
