Stolen from the hands of the innocent. ☕ Can't beat that aroma.

ginnyfromtheblock · 26-30, F
i’m going to be honest i have a nespresso and it has changed my life entirely
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@ginnyfromtheblock Oh Ginny. It's our flaws that make us beautiful.
WildBill25 · 26-30, M

@ginnyfromtheblock that’s on my gotta get list!
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
I love -really good- coffee but don't wanna spend thousands of dollars so I have:

- Beans delivered from a local roaster, light roast usually, from various places around the world
- A high quality hand grinder (a good electric burr grinder is like 800 dollars fuck that)
- A french press, pourover, and aeropress and I switch it up depending on mood
- A temperature controlled kettle

All that kit costs me maybe a few hundred bucks and lets me have incredible coffee of a bunch of different types 'cause a french press or a pourover will give you totally different cups from the same bean. It's fun.
deadteddy · 26-30, F
@CountScrofula You should* a throw a coffee party for all of us coffee lovers 💅
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@deadteddy Imma make you an oat milk latte from the aeropress
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
All you dark roast aficionados are missing out light is where the flavour is.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@MethDozer Starbucks flat out burns their beans, tastes like burnt shoes
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Ryannnnnn Yeah Starbucks is a fine place to go for a giant fuckoff 8000 calories milkshake that tastes like a full pint of condensed milk you would drink as if you were a Cuban abuelita.

However do not under any circumstances get a cup of black coffee there lol
walabby · 61-69, M
@CountScrofula .... and under ABSOLUTELY no circumstances get a white chocolate drink there. My tongue tasted sweet for the next 2 days! 🤮
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
My favourite is freddo espresso (basically iced espresso), I have an espresso machine and buy illy or lavazza ground, I don't really pay attention to the blend. If I want it hot I like it with just a bit of milk. I also like turkish of course, I buy some greek brand, either Loumidis or Bravo. If I'm somewhere where none of them are an option I will just drink nescafe with hot water hahahah also sometimes I like to buy french press with some flavour like hazelnut. I never put sugar in any of them. Overall I'm not really picky when it comes to it hahah but if I really need to wake up I will go with a freddo espresso.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
Dammit. SW crashes when I try to upload an image. I get the Blue Mountain Jamaican beans from Costco and we have a cheap coffee grinder. I think it was like 10 bucks on Amazon. We have another one for weed lmao.

But my coffee pot does pods, too. We have a whole assortment of them we have collected. My favorites are Krispy Kreme and the donut blend from Dollar general lmao
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SwampFlower I know damn well you can afford a good grinder it will CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@CountScrofula got any recommendations?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SwampFlower You need a burr grinder - the cheap blade grinders just kind of randomly pulverize the coffee and fuck the quality since the game is all about correct extraction. You'll need electric because disability. This is the best budget model since why spend 800 bucks on a first time appliance:

Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Old fashioned drip at home with strong dark roast. I have a Ninja coffee maker. I get stuff from an Independent roaster several hours north a few times a year but otherwise I get fair trade.

There's a coffee shop where I work so 3 days a week I treat myself to either a frou frou espresso drink [usually Smore or Caramel] or an hit black Americano depending on if I'm fasting.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Starcrossed Try starting your drip machine with super hot water it makes a wild different in cup quality as they pass a bunch of cold water through at first as they heat up.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@CountScrofula Lol hell half the time it's got the run the 'Clean Cycle' light up and only runs 1/8 of the water through before shutting off.
deadteddy · 26-30, F
I usually get expresso , 2 shots with oat milk. My favorite bean is Colombian. If I want to stay awake I just drink plain black coffee. I pick local coffee shops over Starbucks any day. Recently I’ve been a fake and betraying the coffee lovers community , cause I’ve been consuming green tea a lot and matcha as well. I think I just really love the caffeine. 🥲
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@deadteddy Green tea is great as well, I keep a lot of loose green tea on hand.
deadteddy · 26-30, F
@CountScrofula I love iced green tea , I drink it almost every day during summer .
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
French press with this in it...
Coralmist · 41-45, F
I love keurig pods, I was very grateful to receive a Keurig as a gift a few years ago. Im having a cup now... Green Mountain brand, Colombian. With French vanilla creamer..mmm!!
HotPizza71 · 51-55, M
@Coralmist loved green Mountain, I had a hazelnut coffee of there's when in America
CassandraSissy · 26-30, TVIP
@HotPizza71 Ooooh! Hazelnut is nice, sweetie!

😋
HotPizza71 · 51-55, M
@CassandraSissy love a good strong, sweet drink.. Almost sounds like you hunni, sweet n strong 😜🇬🇧
GerOttman · 61-69, M
I have a big 'ol Philadelphia Eagles double size mug that gets filled on a regular basis with store bought ground perked coffee. Nothing fancy, just the java juice. Cause ya know, all this don't run on flavored spring water!
Buy it if I can, otherwise drip preferably.
Would like a snazzy espresso machine but it's a real science and $$$ to make it right.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SethGreene531 Strongly recommend an aeropress it's a great way to make a small strong coffee. Not espresso but good enough for the value
@CountScrofula Thank you! An ingenious design, wanted one for a while now. It would be portable most likely, great for strong coffee on the road.

Reminds me of this similar unit--- nanopresso-- from Amazon-- https://www.amazon.com/Nanopresso-Portable-Espresso-Minipresso-Operated/dp/B0797T2FYL/
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I'll be judged by the coffee snobs, but the only kind I can handle is Instant Decaf. I'm really sensitive to caffeine and deeply regret when I drink it.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@DearAmbellina2113 HELL YEAH TARDIS MUG. I had a square one for forever until it finally got stolen by someone at work.

And I like decaf and keep it on hand. No shame on instnat coffee, my mom drinks it exclusively and I don't mind it.
Elessar · 26-30, M

€100 Grinder, €50 espresso machine from Lidl (that makes coffee 10x better than the old €200+ one I had lol), black or at most (whipped/) cream and/or whisky
CassandraSissy · 26-30, TVIP
We have those Tassimo Machines, so use pods. Kinda cool having the Costa coffee range, sweetie!

😘
Trekker · 51-55, M
For me it comes down to the bean. I like Italian mocha pot but French press works too depending on grind.

For what matters to me - pacific ocean volcanic soil is the best, light to medium roast. Currently get beans from Indonesia or paupa new Guinea.

Back in the day... Kohna or Jamaica blue mountain. Paupa new Guinea is the closest I've found that matches.
walabby · 61-69, M
A flat white for me... made with my own machine, a Breville BES 920...

Coffee from McDonald’s is the bomb dot com!

badminton · 61-69, MVIP
Drip, Columbian, black no sugar.
Local roaster. I buy beans and grind enough for 2 days.

For the morning, either I use the espresso, 2 shots. Then i add milk.
Or I use the ceramic hand poured drip for certain kinds of beans.

Lately, I’ve been adding 1tsp of maple syrup to my coffee.
Death wish coffee black. Either kcups or freshly ground from a french press. My drip maker works but the top won't stay closed for some reason
Khenpal1 · M
just drip filter from coffee machine , types Mocca , Ethiopian or Kenya. Occasionally for something more strong I use Moka pot.
helenS · 36-40, F
French press, with fresh ground Lavazza coffee beans. I have a mechanical, non-electric coffee grinder (age: > 80 years!)
WandererTony · 56-60, M
Frankly, I prefer espressos and americanos from airport coffee counters. Home made doesn’t taste the same for me.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
I seldomly drink coffee, so I take what's available to me. These days, Iean more towards herbal tea.
SW-User
I have a Keurig but I also have an old stovetop percolator. I like perked coffee best. Black most of the time.
WildBill25 · 26-30, M
Dark roast, french press, strong as hell, black as death!
SW-User
no cup, because I hate coffee
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SW-User Thanks for stopping on by
Mustermann · 36-40, M
Nothing fancy, just a dark roast. Some sugar in it.
RosaMarie · 41-45, F

Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@SledgeHammer you drink from the D? 🤔 Who am I to judge, good for you!
SledgeHammer · 46-50, M
@Ryannnnnn from the D? Wtf? Your feminism has your mind all messed up son..
icedsky · 51-55, M
Cold brew
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
All I'm gonna say
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@basilfawlty89 Turkish coffee is great. Totally different thing than what I consume but if I'm at a place that serves it I'll et one after my meal and enjoy life.
French press. Columbian
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@V00doo Yeah! It's a local company that has direct deal with small plantations and sends a different bag every few weeks so there's a rotating variety that's sent the same day it is roasted.
@CountScrofula Oo nice. Must have something similar here 🤔
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@V00doo Yeah there's been a massive surge in popularity with upscale coffee roasters in the UK over the past few years. I'm sure you can find some amazing subscription services.
Sorry if it sounds low-rent to aficionados, but this has been my latest addiction…
helenS · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard Looks like a plastic bottle 🤨
@helenS It is. But the coffee brand is very good.
HotPizza71 · 51-55, M
Pods and cafetiere
MethDozer · M
Never underestimate the ability of Italians and the French to ruin a cup of coffee
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@MethDozer The turks know how do make a good one 👌
MethDozer · M
@Ryannnnnn over roasted.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Ryannnnnn @MethDozer Love all of the above lol
MethDozer · M
blonde, percolated or pour-over usually
MethDozer · M
@CountScrofula I guess it's an aquired taste thing. You just gotta course grind the beans and watch it. There's a narrow window of brewed and ruined.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@MethDozer Yeah it's a very very easy way to burn the shit out of your coffee.
MethDozer · M
@CountScrofula I had one of those siphon pots and it was the gas but I set it down one day from the stove top and there was a little bit of water on the cutting board and it just exploded all over the place.

@Ryannnnnn French press needs a good grinder because you get so much silt in it otherwise. I can't hush about a good manual grinder enough though best way to get quality coffee for... well they're not cheap but a damn sight cheaper than an electric.
