Coffee drinkers of SW, what's your standard cup?

@CountScrofula I've noticed light roasts can make my anxiety come out really strong.

@Starcrossed I think I once read the darker the roast the lower the caffeine content.

I've noticed that cold press also makes my anxiety react stronger than usual too.

@Starcrossed Yeah light roasts have more caffeine no question

@CountScrofula yup you get the complexity from lighter roasts, the acidity, the midtones, that you generally miss if you go with dark.

@CountScrofula I like the medium roast, but I drink it black.

@Starcrossed Same, so does certain types of weed. But I embrace it and thrive on it. Like tip me past the tipping point and when I come back down from it, the regular just ain't that bad. I hate my anxiety, but at least I can dictate when and were and sorta numb myself when it's important by tuning it up when it isn't.



YeahI have very unorthodox coping mechanisms.

@AlyAngel If you ever pass by some ludicrously pretentious coffee shop with a guy in a hipster beard at the counter, get a pourover light roast it's the dragon I chase every morning when I make coffee lol

@CountScrofula We don't have a lot of options here, Starbucks and Dunkin, Starbucks always taste burnt, and Dunkin never seems hot enough. We had a nice coffee shop that had a library in it, but it closed down during Covid, reopened for a bit but got destroyed by the latest hurricane we got.

@AlyAngel Yeah, I'm not a big fan ot either. Starbucks over roasts all their types. That's sort of their thing. Dunkin is okay just nothing special.

@AlyAngel Aw what the hell. Well, some day. Just keep it in the back of your head if you're ever in a larger centre. I live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere so mail order my coffee lmao

@MethDozer I think it comes down to both of us recognizing any technique can be optimized and that sure as hell applies to coffee.

@Ryannnnnn Yeah Starbucks is a fine place to go for a giant fuckoff 8000 calories milkshake that tastes like a full pint of condensed milk you would drink as if you were a Cuban abuelita.

However do not under any circumstances get a cup of black coffee there lol

@CountScrofula .... and under ABSOLUTELY no circumstances get a white chocolate drink there. My tongue tasted sweet for the next 2 days! 🤮
