How much is too much for a cup of coffee?

Still processing the €6 I spent today for a single cup
MarineBob · 56-60, M
I charge $20.00 from a vending machine but you get a Yeti or Coleman cup with it, I'm still losing money
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@MarineBob I paid $15 SGD roughly for a cup of Kopi Luak(beans that have been "processed" by a civet cat) in Indonesia at a full service cafe. I don't think I can afford your coffee 😂😂
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Longpatrol when employees sell 100 or more cups a week they get a bonus
I never buy coffee by the cup. My money is better spent on other things. I rarely make flavored coffee at home.

0.90$ .. anything more is expensive 😅

Sciorrach · 22-25, F
@ASLAN perfect breakfast right there 🤩

Over $2 is too much
Anything over $5
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
The last one was about $6 Aud which I think is about half price to your pound. And that was even with the two extra shots.

I don't mind paying 5 USD as a treat and if I know it's made by an actual barista. However, I usually refuse to spend more than 2 USD.

I bought a 500$ breville espresso machine to avoid paying that much for coffee. Best decision of my life
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Too much for me. I could have coffee for a couple weeks or more for that.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
€1.40 at the bar here, fresh

The 99 cent extra large coffee I used to be able to buy at Cumberland farms, now costs $1.29. It was good coffee, they had a machine where you could add ALL sorts of flavorings, they had flavored creamers, regular cream, and milk. If you are paying more than 4 euros you are being ripped off.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
£2 is all I would pay.
PatKirby · M
When I calculate it out, I brew a measured cup of great vanilla or 100% colombian coffee ☕ each morning for under 50 cents. So a dollar to me is too much.
Howudoin · 41-45, M
Interestingly enough, I was so fed up with buying coffee out... that i bought a thousand dollar espresso machine. I don't regret it at all!
exexec · 61-69, C
I never buy coffee at a coffee shop, so I average paying less than half a dollar per cup of the cheap stuff I buy at Kroger.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
I make great coffee. Can't remember the last time I went to a coffee shop. Before Covid.
Mudkip · 31-35, M
I don't care for overpriced dirt water. But spending $3 on a red bull, that I don't mind

That must have been a damn fine cup of coffee!!
Sciorrach · 22-25, F
@SW-User not even 😖
InHeaven · F
Whoa thats too much
PatKirby · M
@InHeaven

Yeah that's way too much.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
That's way too much.

Depends on the size of the coffee and the shop you're getting it from.

There's a coffee shop in my hometown where I can get a small latte for the relatively reasonable price of $3.75.
Really · 80-89, M
Ten cents was about right. Vanderhoof* co-op was the last place I found that (maybe 45 years ago.)

*Hooterville :)
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
$5 for a large latte at a nice greek owned cafe near us.😷
5 but I stopped going to coffee houses.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
I wouldn't get coffee if it was for free
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Over $2 now at McDonald's. 😒
Monalisaa1986 · 36-40, F
They need to buy good coffee packets from other countries and pay the workers somehow
Monalisaa1986 · 36-40, F
Is €6 euro if so that’s $12 in Australia
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
$3.50 but I'll pay it anyways
