Soup especially in cooler weather. Takes time to make it and that can be very therapeutic as well.

hmmm, to me "comfort food" and " foods that act like an antidepressant" are two often very different things. I have struggled with depression most of my youth and now I'm pretty much depression-free because of being very careful what I eat and how I live. when I think comfort food I think of lasagna, brownies, strawberry-rhubarb pie, poutine, basically high-carb foods that give a noticeable "high" while we consume them but these foods are also very bad for depression so I am very careful how often I eat these foods. the best for depression is high-nutrient, high-protein, low-carb foods with a good source of fiber, like lentil and vegetable soup, not exactly a comfort food.

Buffet with free refills of coke, well it could cost a little but that's my final answer!!

Cream soups. I usually take an inexpensive can of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup, and get creative and build with it as the base.
I add things like pepperoni...or hot Italian sausage or chicken or ham, and usually add plain varieties of canned beans, and veggies of various kinds...different for each soup I make.
